We also received this letter and it is legit, we checked it out last night. Unfortunately DH can't take off from work so maybe I will consider going with someone else. The offer is just too good to pass up. We are not gamblers either, yet we received the letter.

I received the letter too. We sailed on our very first Carnival cruise last August & did not gamble in the casino at all. My parents who have sailed Carnival a bunch of times, including once this past year did not receive the letter & they gamble in the casino. So, go figure??

Just booked a Spa Interior for $288 TOTAL for two people on an 8-Day cruise on the Splendor out of New York City in June!!!! If you factor in the cost of spa passes, I think they are paying ME to cruise, and I don't have to pay airfare! :D

Cannot believe that the spa interiors are FREE!

I'm not sure why we got this, but we are stoked and so grateful! :)

It's for past cruisers who rack up a large Sail & Sign account. Is a way for Carnival to say "thank you" for spending all that extra money!

Actually, the letter says:

We want to invite you back on board Carnival with an exclusive offer. For a limited time, you have qualified for a FREE CABIN (Ocean view and Balcony staterooms may also be available for a small fee).

We got a letter also, we haven't been in a ships casino in years and when we did go in the most we ever spent was $10, just not gamblers. Have never ran up a big tab either, so don't think that is true either. I really don't think there is any ryhme or reason to who got them, but I'm booked on Carnival Freedom June 22 in a balcony cabin for $349 for the two of us!!!:D

I was skeptical about the letter, even though there was no reference to any agency.

So I went to Carnival.com and looked under my VIFP number and there it was.

Actually there they "were". More than a few choices, including several cruises in the Carnival Live series.

Got the same cruise for May that I would have had in the middle of hurricane season, upgraded from inside to balcony. Tax,tag out the door a savings of $2,000.

This is our ninth Carnival cruise together.

The only thing I saw was a past guest sale with 2 category upgrade under my VIFP number. :(

not in our case, don't think we've ever had a S&S over $300

left CCL in a huff:oover changes to the past guest program. I did write a letter of complaint, I didn't receive the offer.;)

what's odd is 'ours' came in DH's name & he had never even set up his online VIP account:confused: All his past cruises did appear once I set up an account yesterday though and I could see all the promos he qualified. I had squat in my name:rolleyes:.

I only checked for cabins available the last week of May/1st of June but there were no: Alaska, California or upgrades to aft balconies (for southern itineraries I checked).

I did call again today and was told no aft-balcony upgrades but to keep checking periodically before the end of the promo (3/31 I believe?) jik.

I am absolutely thrilled to have saved over $2,400 on lowest rate we qualified - 8 night in balcony on the Sunshine. Not sure what i'll do to occupy myself on 4 sea days but will muddle through.:D

Woo - Hoo ! We got a letter today too. It was using my husbands' VIFP number. We cruised last May. Our kids always have their own cabin next door but didn't get a letter.

We just booked an 8 day out of Galveston on the Magic June 29. Will be in Cozumel for the 4th of July ! We upgraded to a balcony and our total with taxes, the upgrade, and gratuities is $451.

We picked Galveston because it's a 14 hour drive and we won't have to buy usual airfare.

Awesome.

You don't have to wait until you get the snail mail. I found out by reading the boards here yesterday and then I logged in under my VFIP number, clicked on "Special Offers" or something similar, and the FREE Cabin offer was there, along with a another offer of past guest sale with 2 category upgrade, which I didn't use.

When I got home from work last night, I saw a letter from Carnival and opened it (usually I toss it but I knew from the boards that there was also a letter) which basically confirmed that there indeed was a free cruise for me on Carnival.com. The envelope had a blue sticker on the front that said "Exclusive Membership Offer Enclosed". :)

I got one but nobody can travel with me. I might have to go by myself because it's way to good to pass up.

Find someone! I agree though, this was not a good time for me to book a cruise, but for $200 or $300 for a 7 or 8 day cruise, I just couldn't say No! I'm taking my DD, my DH said he can't take time off, besides, he doesn't know how to relax and with 4 sea days, he'll go stir-crazy - me, I'll enjoy the pampering, will bring plenty of reading material, etc.

To offset the fact that I couldn't afford a cruise at this time, I booked one out of New York City so all I have to do is take the bus to Port Authority for about $40 round-trip ... saves $$$$ on buying airfare.

It worked out well because the offer was for cruises until the end of June and I don't have to worry about taking my DD out of school. We never cruised during the summer, so this will be a treat, too!

I'll go with you! Can I bring my 3 year old. How much is it in total? JK my husband would kill me if I went without him. But how much would it be? Just out of curiosity.

We booked last night!! I was skeptical when I opened our letter but I had to check it out. Soooo glad I did! We are booked on the May 24th 8-day Southern Caribbean on Freedom for a whopping grand total of ..... drumroll please ....... $637 for 3 in a balcony. We haven't sailed with Carnival since May 2012 and we do our fair share of casino time so maybe a combo of those got us a letter, who knows.. even if Carnival isn't your favorite line you really can't pass on this deal. Super excited and ready for May!!

I got a letter but it seems to be associated with Infinity Travel. Is this the same thing others are getting or is it the scam ? It offers a 8 day 7 night cruise for 2, plus round trip airfare. We thought it was probably some time share marketing scheme.

I was online last night looking at some rates for May-June and checked my offers. Nothing there but the 2 category upgrade for past guests.

Fast Forward to this am. Our PVP called and said he noticed I had been on CCL site and wanted to know if I was ready to book. Told him no, that I was just checking "my offers" because of so many posting about free cruise offers from CCL. He said that for the most part it was aimed at those who hadn't sailed CCL in a while to get them back. When I mentioned that many were posting they sailed last year and had gotten the offer, he went quiet.

So basically, maybe no one knows what the market driver is for these offers.

Yes, husband got two offers... One for free inside state room and one for $50 inside state room with $50 OBC. He got 2nd after we already booked the $50 offer:-)

In what medium did he get the 1st and 2nd offer?

1) By email

2) By snail mail

3) By logging into his account.
