Sochi Olympics Onboard?

Pardon the repetition if this question has been asked, but is Celebrity airing the Sochi Olympics on their ships? I'll be on the Summit next week and the men's gold medal hockey game is scheduled for Sunday, February 23rd and there's a good chance that the Canadian team will be playing in it. Being a proud Canadian, it's basically a requirement of my citizenship that I watch the game. So, will I be able to watch it somewhere? I'm not expecting it to be shown in the same manner as the Super Bowl, but perhaps in a smaller venue than the theatre? Can anyone comment on events being shown onboard from the previous week?

Thanks!

On our recent Constellation cruise the Olympics were very limited. The only channel on the television carrying them was either CNBC or MSNBC (can't remember which channel of the two we had). We didn't have NBCSports or NBC for the main broadcasts.

JimHam4 and daisy-mae, are those schnauzers I am spotting??

Gracie and Lovey our 2 mini schnauzers are curious.:D;)

Yep, that's Gunner my nine year old mini. He has two rescue sisters, a ten year old boxer we've had forever and a three year old English bulldog we just added to the menagerie.

Yes, that's Rocky, and he's wearing an Ottawa Senators coat.

I wasn't a dog person until my son adopted him, now I think that mini schnauzers are the cat's meow.

NO !!!!!!!! And there are a lot of hacked off passengers on board. Many have asked numerous times, but were told no, not even in the casino. It's not even on MSNBC or CNBC. The last Winter Olympics in Vancouver was shown when we were on Solstice, so I don't know why they won't show even some of it. Lots of Canadians on board who want to see hockey, but they refuse. It sucks, because you know the reason is money----people watching TV aren't out spending money. Bad move on the part of Celebrity.

Bad move on the part of Celebrity.

I think the problem is that they're likely showing the international versions of MSNBC and CNBC and Olympics programming rights are sold on a country basis, so I'd be surprised if those channels have any coverage (I was also on Silhouette last week and I know that when I checked, I did not see Olympic coverage on either NBC channel).

Anyway, I wonder how they would be able to license Olympic rights for the cruise ship given that they're crossing multiple countries? Are other cruise lines are doing a better job?

Glad they are not showing it given Russia's appalling stance on gay rights. Why support such a backward society.

I assume you will not be booking with NCL anymore since they chartered the Jade to a Russian company so it could be used as a floating hotel?
