That's it? Thanks.

We're on the 15 May sailing and noticed during the cabin search, the deck plan asks for pre/post May 15 date. It doesn't sound like they're doing much, but hopefully they will sprucen her up some.

Does anybody know what exactly is going to be done to the Caribbean princess in it's May 2014 Drydock? We are on her in the end of May and are wondering.

thanks

I understand that new bedding like on Royal is supposed to be done also.

We just spent a week on the Caribbean. She's in need of service - salt encrusted balcony fittings, rails in need of varnish, rust - the usual effects of a ship at sea. Some water leak stains internally, although the carpets looked pretty good. Some lounge furniture was worn too.

Remember, dry dock exists for one simple purpose: to allow access to the areas of the hull below the waterline. Obviously, the cruise lines try to maximize the use of the non-revenue time for lots of other work, but there's absolutely no reason they can't service salt-encrusted balcony fittings, rust spots, water leak stains, and rails in need of varnish while underway or in port.

I think all of the other replies were wrong.... She was in drydock to spruce up the ship for Griff and his lady.... We'll be on board in less that 44 hours, not that I'm counting.

(I guess all of that other stuff, including the new cabins and such, were done out of convenience...)

She is due in to Fort Lauderdale tomorrow afternoon per the harbormaster report that someone posted, so she should be pulling out of Freeport soon. I can see the port from my office, so it wil be nice seeing her come in during daylight hours....

....and bringing the dry dock with her! I'll try to see her dock this afternoon.

Yes Sir, it was a good sign last night when the bridge cam showed the rescue boats moving back and forth....

Still my favorite Princess ship as she's the one who "reintroduced" me to cruising several years back, I'm glad she's coming this way to pick up Griff, my smarter half, and about 3000 of our closest (for the next few days) friends....

I have to admit, they sometimes aren't the quickest to update the text on the webcams.

According to the Port Everglades ship schedule. She should be docking around 2pm.
