Leaked list of restaurants on the Anthem (and presumed Quantum) - No More MDR

Recommended Posts

Royal Caribbean is holding a big event on Wednesday to announce dining options on its brand new Quantum of the Seas cruise ship but we've got an advanced look at what we can expect to be announced.

A leaked document listing all the floor plans for Anthem of the Seas was accidently posted and lists the public areas, including all the restaurants onboard. The big news is there is no more main dining room and instead quite a number of restaurants for guests choose from.

Below is a list of all the restaurants onboard Anthem of the Seas, complimentary and specialty. We do not know how much of a difference there will be with Quantum of the Seas, if any.

From beef Wellington to chicken a l’orange, the world’s classic dishes come together for formal night, every night.

Do we know which ones are included and which ones will be at an additional charge?

Not liking this change!:(

MARAPRINCE

To me it all depends if they are additional charge restaurants or not. If the vast majority of these restaurants are not additional charge then I'm okay with it. I like the idea of having a variety of restaurants to choose from each night. :)

However if the vest majority are additional charge restaurants, then I'm with you.

I'm excited about having more options to choose from. I remember how many CC'ers complained about some of the Oasis Class firsts and now seeing how many peole love both of them makes me laugh.

Luckily if these options don't suit you, you can always cruise on the other classes and get enjoy the MDR to your hearts content!

Now RCI, publish the Summer 2015 Schedule for Quantum already. :)

I think your title should read "no more traditional dining". My guess is that The Grande, Chic and maybe even Silk will be considered as dining rooms (free) just on a much smaller scale. Something very similar like NCL.

We normally choose my time dining so this does not bother me but I can understand the disappointment in those who enjoy the traditional seating.

Well I have no problems with the dining options nor the change in the dining room format never been a fan of the MDR concept. I do enjoy having dining options on a ship even paid ones. From what I read so far about both new ships they really do not get me excited the way Oasis and Allure did. I know Anthem will be coming to Ft Lauderdale someday soon and unless I see something that will make me want to go on her I think as of this date I would say a no go for us. If we want Freestyle dining we know where we can go for a lot less money.

I've just read on another thread that The Grande, Chic and the American Grill are free. For all the others you pay. I am sure the Windjammer would obviously be included too.

That's what the leaked information on Twitter today (which listed the pay restaurants) seems to indicate. We'll have to wait for the official word tonight to confirm!

As I stated on the other post, I would be really disappointed if there were only 3 total sit down type restaurants that were free. Especially, if one of them is formal every night. Unless each restaurant also has a rotating menu, it is going to get very boring very quickly unless you want to open up the purse strings further.

I have no issue with paying an upcharge for a better restaurant on 1 or maybe 2 nights, but I certainly don't want to feel that in order to get a variety of food that I need to do it 4 or 5 times.

I agree, especially since the Quantum and Anthem are slated to offer a lot of longer itineraries.

I 100% agree. Very disappointed in the seeming lack of real dining options. For those who want to defend RCCL, I was once on your side and the just so we are on the same page, the Windjammer doesn't count as one!

I'm not liking this change. I am picturing mass chaos as everyone swarms various restaurants each night, trying to get seated....

I agree with you 100%. It will be mass chaos every evening and I don't fancy that one little bit

I'm curious as to whether we would need to make a reservation for each restaurant. That would cut down on the chaos, but is also a pain because you would still have to plan ahead. I personally like traditional dining.

The original thoughts were that the smaller MDR would be compensated by MTD allowing for almost 3 full rotations. Now if only 3/4 of that MDR space is slotted for the MDR and only 2/3 of that is non formal I really don't see how Royal is going to seat all these people. Everyone is not going to pay for restaurants and if offering a single menu per venue is designed to force that it will be nothing but complaints. Hopefully we hear more after 6:30. I really feel like we haven't heard anything new today compared to the leak so I'm still not confident we know enough to properly judge everything.
