58Piano Posted March 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2014 We will be on the Royal Easter Sunday 20th. But the ship disembarks that day. Do they have a church service or a sunrise service? Anything special to celebrate Easter?
RET_REF Posted March 31, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2014 We will be on the Royal Easter Sunday 20th. But the ship disembarks that day. Do they have a church service or a sunrise service? Anything special to celebrate Easter? You should send an email to Princess Cruises in Santa Clarita, CA to ask this question to be sure. I doubt if there would be a service because the earliest new passengers coming aboard the Royal would not be until sometime after 11 AM. Unless a Reverend would be remaining on board from the previous cruise would be the only possibility, or if the Captain himself held a service? You should still see a nice display of Easter eggs and candy for the children in the Piazza-Atrium remaining for at least another day. I thought about taking this cruise because we always like to go on a cruise each year around Easter, but decided to wait until next year when the cruise will be a ten day cruise instead of a seven day cruise. Hope you enjoy your cruise!
GottaLuvCruising Posted April 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2014 We are disembarking the Royal on Easter and a sunrise service was mentioned in our roll call. I'd love to see that offered!
Shoalwater Posted April 9, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 9, 2014 (edited) One more of the changes for your cruising convenience. A ranking member of the ship's staff told me at lunch that Princess is discontinuing the practice of staffing priests on-board for Christmas and Easter. They weren't sure if it would begin this Easter. Add this to the list of other changes made by Princess (or Carnival Corp?) like no bridge master on long cruises, dropping Scholarship at Sea lecturers and substituting ship's officers and staff instead on many cruises, discontinuance of Princess Fine Arts for Park Worst, ......... Disappointing. Edited April 9, 2014 by Shoalwater

Mom33 Posted April 9, 2014 #6 Share Posted April 9, 2014 On the Emerald last Easter, A priest held vigil mass on Saturday night. I believe an inter-denominational service followed.
Pia1913 Posted April 9, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I would doubt there'd be a service on any turnaround day. Everyone is busy getting the passengers off. Even the gym is usually closed.
