Hello. I'm loving your review although I blame you for the fact that I didn't get much done yesterday. :D

 

I contacted Holland Limo for our upcoming trip and I wanted to ask you a couple of questions. Does the driver help getting bags to porters, etc at the cruise port? Please excuse my lack of correct terminology. It's early and I've given up coffee this week:eek:

 

Do you use the taxi service to return to the airport also? I was wondering if you specify a certain time but get stuck at customs if they wait for you, etc.

Good morning SXM!

 

It appears that the winter is dwindling away as many ships have abandoned the Caribbean for Alaska and Europe, no more 6 ship pileups at SXM or ST!

 

There might be fewer planes zooming over the Maho airport as well.

Well, I made the Bushwackers, but everyone agreed they were way toooo sweet. I must tweek the recipe, but hope to have it down right by the time we leave for our cruise. We got in some good training though!!!!

This is the recipe I use. It's just about perfect.

 

4-5 cups vanilla ice cream

4oz Bacardi clear rum

2oz Kahlua coffee liqueur

2oz Malibu rum

2oz Godiva chocolate liqueur

2 cups crushed ice (blend until desired thickness)

Hershey's Chocolate syrup

Hi Chris, I have been following since the beginning. I am doing this ship and itinerary in August, including a pre night at the Hyatt. With regards to the Bernards Tour, did you select Tour 1 or Tour 2? Can't wait to see your review of the Tour.

Hello friends! Back aboard Allure and uploading photos but that will take some time....

 

I see I have a bunch of questions to answer so here it goes:

 

As far as I know they still have limes on board and yes I do have the premium beverage package

 

I did the Maho Beach tour through Benard's. It's a tour all by itself, not part of tour 1 or 2

 

I do not use a wifi booster in the cabin but as dreadful as it is for uploading photos I might get one before the next cruise!

 

The drivers for Holland Limo do help with the luggage. I usually just a taxi from the pier back to the airport when I arrive back in Fort Lauderdale

I just upgraded to a Junior Suite thanks to the sale RCCL is having right now so I'm even more excited for my cruise! I didn't think it was possible to be more excited, but somehow I am!

The size of Allure and Serenade could not be more stunning

 

 

 

The port area at St. Maarten is very nice plus they are adding on to it

 

We arrived in Maho Beach. The Sunset Bar and Grill has great drinks and food

 

It was already busy at the beach. It would get even busier as the day progressed

Very cool. I like the group of girls posing on the beach!

We sailed Oasis to St. Maarten last year - did a private tour through Bernard's. It was on my bucket list to see some planes landing but had my young niece and nephew - the "atmosphere" at Maho was not-so-kid-friendly! Next time, I sail without them! :-)

Chris your pictures are great. My DD and DH and I will be at Mayho beach in June. Just wandering what time you left the ship and what is a good time to head back to the ship? I hear the rush hour traffic and a bridge that unpredictably stops traffic can turn a leisurely beach day into a hair puller trying to get back on ship on time. I also saw that folks were sitting in chairs and had umbrellas on the beach. Do they have to be reserved? Do you rent that setup from some bar? And the last question is about what time did the larger planes start coming in?:D

Chris great photos of Maho Beach. We are doing that this cruise too, I have never done that in all our cruises. Always gone to Orient Beach. Were just going to jump in taxi and head over. Anyone know how much? Have a great rest if your cruise Chris. I leave for Florida tomorrow and out in Oasis on Saturday.

FYI got a call and a text from RCI that it's Fleet weekend and that the pier entrances may be extra busy.
