A Photo Review of our Magic Cruise Vacation

Recommended Posts

We arrived at Atlantis. It was a beautiful resort. It reminded me of Vegas. We had to check in at our tour's stand and then go to the casino to get our wrist bands we needed for access to the resort park.

Such beautiful art through out

It felt like we had to walk forever to get to the casino.... and the line inside for the wrist bands wasn't moving so fast. Once we got them, we walked forever to get to the water park too. It wasn't easy either. There were no clear directions or signs.

I never made it to beach area myself as I was following my little one around. My friend's family went there and took my dd.

Soon it was time to head back to the ship. I was following the crowd back thru the hotel but was far behind as I was snapping pictures. I ended up following the wrong person who was wearing the same thing as my dh. Really what are the odds??? I was lost for 15 minutes and began to really panic. No one had their cell phones. I ended up finding my way to wear the taxi cabs park outside the hotel. As it turned out, they got lost too trying to find the exit to the taxi cabs. What a mess. Luckily, I found my group. Guess that is what I get for taking so many pictures...

Enjoying your review. We are going to the same ports. We absolutely loved our time in Freeport. We booked a snorkel and private beach excursion with Pat and Diane (we went on the same last year). This was one of the best times we have had on a cruise excursion. If you ever go to Freeport again, you may want to book with them.

In Nassau we walked about 4 bus to the Hilton and spent the day at the hotel pool and beach. Great time.

We want to do Parasailing in Key west, can you tell me who you used?

Thank you.

Loving the review! We were on the Magic last month, she is such a beautiful ship! We're doing this same itinerary on the Dream next April! :)

I am so glad you like it. I've started reading yours too. I love the Magic. I understand from what I'm reading of yours that you didn't care for the food either!

I'm glad I stumbled on your review. I have a 15 year old with severe autism. I took him on a cruise with autism on the seas two years ago, it was hard. My son isn't potty trained and is non verbal which made is very challenging.

How did your son handle the crowds and such?

Thank you for the tip! I think I would have enjoyed Freeport more if we had left the area. It was so hot and with the ship not moving, there wasn't a breeze either.

In Keywest, we used Sunset Water Sports. Those folks took very good care of us.

My son did pretty good. He enjoyed spending his time on our private balcony with a book. He loves books. He also participated in Club O2 quite a bit too. I could have put him in the younger club with his sister but he insisted he wanted to go to his own. I spoke with the club director and advised her of his situation. She was very helpful. He wasn't crazy about some of the water activities but he would get in the pools for a minute. He is a creature of routine and when his gets disrupted... he is moody. We had a few mood swings but nothing too bad.

On beach days, my son would play in the water and he actually enjoyed it. He used to enjoy water slides and amusement park rides but the older he gets, the more cautionary he is to do it. I was kind of bummed that he wanted to spend so much time at the cabin but then my DH reminded me that its his vacation too... and if that is what he wanted to do, let him. He brought huge heavy books with him and read them. I have always joked that he is a little old man trapped in a kid's body.

Here are a couple of pictures I took in Nassau on the way back to the ship. I'd love to know the story behind this first one.

Back at the pier... our ship is alone. Fantasy headed out earlier.

Thursday night is usually the 2nd Elegant Night but on this cruise, it falls on Friday, a sea day. I am glad for that. When we got back on the boat, I believe we showered and headed to dinner. As always, we ate in the MDR. This night, the waiters did a show and my kids had so much dancing with them.

Later than night was the Mexican Fiesta Buffet and deck party!!!! Always a good time!

That night was also the Camp Carnival Kids late night party. My 9 year old ds participated. It lasts until 3am. A CC counselor brings your child to the cabin when its over. It cost a little extra... maybe $20? They do fun games around the ship and they get a back pack with some Camp Carnival souvenirs. My dd did this same party 2 years earlier and loved it too. I believe its only for 9-12 year olds.

Day 6 - Friday... Sea Day and Elegant Night 2

On this day, DH and I had brunch without the kids in the MDR.

I of course went to the spa... AKA as my happy place. I went there daily whether it be at night or morning. I really enjoy sitting in the thalassotherapy pool and sitting on the hot stone loungers. Also, I got a manicure during the week here too.
