Will the Ruby dock at Mahogany Bay or somewhere else?

 

Thoughts on staying at Mahogany or taking a taxi or excursion across the island to a beach in west bay or turquoise bay? We will have a 15 month old with us... Also hubby really loves snorkeling.

 

I have read through the comments on the actual port pages, but would really value your opinions too.

Except for extreme extenuating circumstances, you will dock at Mahogany Bay (built and owned by CCL). If you can't get in, you might go to Coxen Hole, but don't count on it.

Very unlikely you'll dock anyplace other than Mahogany Bay.

There's a beach within the complex. Not the best for snorkeling but would be extremely easy with the baby.

Unless things have changed, taxis and excursions are not allowed to pick up at the port. You must walk out and over a hill where they park on the shoulder of the road. On the way back they can come into the port to drop off. I don't recall how far the walk was, more of a PITA than any thing else.

IMO, with a little one, it would be best to go to Mahogany Bay's beach. It's so close and convenient. It's not as nice as other beaches and gets quite crowded, so get there early for a prime chaise lounge. Your little one will never know the difference between a West Bay beach and the one close to the ship other than she'd probably be happier not to have to sit in a hot taxi to get to the WB beach.

Thank you all! I am leaning more towards M Bay, and DH is good to go with whatever is easiest! :-)
