Early Saver vs Casino Rate

Sorry if this has been asked, I searched but didn't find anything. Have a casino offer that is $60pp less than ES is showing for a cruise in 2015. We always book ES, if I book with the casino rate & the price drops with ES, can I switch rates? I know it has to be before ES expires & I would need to pay the full ES deposit. Just haven't seen if anyone has been allowed to switch.

Thanks & Happy Cruising!!

Just a heads up...

My wife got a casino offer in the mail. I called the main Carnival number to price match the offer since it was ~$80 lower per person, and the agent told me they couldn't see the price and there was nothing she could do....even though I told her it was a casino offer and I had the discount code (PTC or some variant) and that i could see it on my screen on a mock booking.

I then tried calling the phone number listed on the casino offer from the mail, and the agent at this number was able to price match the casino rate for us.

Thanks everyone! I never call for my ES price drops, just fill out the form. I always copy & paste the link to what I am seeing. Have only had to re-submit twice & have always gotten our price drops.

Thank you for posting this! I have been thinking about this also. I booked ES and got the casino offer a week later. It is only about a $90.00 savings, but $90.00 onboard credit will treat us to the steakhouse one night. I just filled out the price protection form. :)

PTC was the code I used to match ES to Casino Rate.

The phone number on the offer rings to the promotions department, not the regular PVP team, so they might not be able to answer all your questions (or might give you different results!)

We have booked with the promotions department and our PVP using casino offers.

Look at the code offered... we've gotten several offers over the last two years, each with a different code. Comparing the offers, we think that the lower the number, the better the selection of cabins. (HBB7 gave us interior on Riveria, HBB5 gave us interior anywhere on the ship). The BB stands for bounce-back, and they have to be booked and used pretty quickly.

I am also booked ES and have a casino offer. The offer includes casino cash. Does anyone know if I submit the price match, whether I will also get the casino cash, and how?

Also, the offer says that I'm supposed to bring a copy of the mailer to get the cash, but so far, it is only showing up in my online carnival account. I have received nothing by mail or email.

You always get the Casino Cash in cash at the Casino. Remember you need to pay the increased deposit when you book ES and change over to the casino offer.

The casino cage will have a list of who is booked under the casino rate and how much or what amenities BUT while my name is always on the list, the amount isn't so they just send an email to my PVP who confirms my cash. I have also used a confirmation email with the amount from the Players Club.

I got it in an email about 1 month after I booked the casino rate. It does state to print it out and bring it to the casino cage with your picture ID to claim. I never got anything by snail mail.

Thanks Elaine. The part I have highlighted also made my wonder if I would actually be changing to the casino offer. By that I mean, I thought I would only be matching my early saver booking to the casino rate. Not trying to be technical here- just want to be sure that I would still be booked as early saver for any last minute price drops!

Did you book the casino rate from the beginning, or did you price match an early saver rate?

Between this, and the last post, what I am trying to figure out is if you book as ES, then submit a ES rate request based on the casino offer, does that then put me on the list for the casino cash part of the offer?

Once booked ES, always ES. You are just getting a lower rate.

I have gotten casino cash even when I did not book using the casino rate. I just went to the service desk in the casino and they accessed my account and told me the perks that I would get.

Yep..

Taking advantage of future price drops can result in loss of this casino cash but as another poster noted, you may have casino cash available to you without having casino rate

We are booked under casino rate for a 5 day Liberty sailing end of July. There are a lot of cabins in our class still available and the rate is now a tad cheaper than when I booked 2 weeks ago. If I'm booked under casino rate, is there any price protection available? I'm paid in full at this point since we leave in 49 days.

I booked ES first, then got the casino offer and price matched to it.

On my last cruise in May, I had a Casino rate which proceeded to drop $275 after final payment. I was just out of luck. When I booked there was no ES but I will stick with that whenever possible now. JUst depends on how great that Casino rate is.

Last cruise I booked Early Saver and then price matched to Casino Rate!

:D And when I got on the ship, I checked at the Casino Cage and my name was on the list for Casino Cash too!!:D So make sure you check when on board!
