Carnival Gift Card - 10% Bonus Offer

Recommended Posts

I purchased $1000 card and a $500 card on Monday. I received one promo card for $100 today but not a promo card for $50. Is there a limit on much you can purchase to be eligible for the 10% promo?

No. You received the regular $500 card no problem? Did you order them at the same time? You may need to call.

Spent $2000 on gift cards with my Carnival master card and getting $200 free. Today I get an email from Carnival Mastercard saying I will get 10% points back if I use points as a statement credit after June 30 and before Dec 31.

So, now I get that bonus on top of the free $$ from Carnival. Nice! Time to cash in those points I've been building for a nice statement credit. Anyone else get this?

Good news! You have been selected to receive a limited-time offer:

Redeem at least 5,000 "FunPoints" and we will give you back 10% of the "FunPoints" you redeem between July 1 - December 31, 2014, up to 25,000 "FunPoints"

It's easy to take advantage of this offer:

1. Redeem "FunPoints" between July 1 - December 31

2. Your redemption must be for at least 5,000 "FunPoints" (redemptions cannot be added together)

3. You can earn back 10% of the "FunPoints" redeemed,up to 25,000 FunPoints", during the promotion periodof July 1 - December 31, 2014

  • 4 weeks later...

Just got back from Freedom.... sounds odd, but it's also oddly true.

No problem putting the GCs on the account at guest services, though it took 3 or 4 minutes.

I wanted to report that these did not show up on TV in-cabin at any time. They did show up on the S&S self-serve station across from guest services, so I was able to verify that they were on the account that way.

That's good info to know. I'll be on the breeze in 2 months and I purchased this promo. Thanks!

Did you use the regular gift card, the promo card, or both? And did you put them on your account using the kiosk or a human. I'm guessing human, since you said "at guest services."

I'm Platinum, so normally very little wait time at the desk, but if I can just add them at the kiosk, I'll do that.

I did a regular gift card and a promo card at the some time. I did add them at guest services. I am also platinum so had minimal wait, but I would probably use the kiosk next time also.

Curious as to any remaining money left at end of cruise could you remove cash from the kiosk? Have read conflicting answers on here if thats a doable solution. Some say yes others say no. We like to leave the room steward a little extra at the end of the cruise, could I just remove some cash for that? Don't really use the casino so would rather not go that route if possible. From what I'm understanding the card amounts will show up at the kiosk, is that correct? Thanks from anyone that has recently used the cards onboard!

Thanks for providing that "heads up" info. :)

I've purchased several of the 10% savings CCL e-gift cards during the past two weeks, and each one has glitched when attempting to apply online via the Manage My Booking page. Gives an error message (on four different computer devices) every time. But once I call reservations, they can apply it/them with no issues. They hesitate to answer my question if others are experiencing the same challenge.

Going to arrange several more to take onboard for purchase of the CHEERS program, and glad to know in advance that it'll be there, but may not show up on the cabin TV screen.

Hey, ten-percent savings is better then 'full retail' any day. :D

I can't say for certain because I wasn't looking for the option to get cash... the only think I believe I saw on the kiosk was the ability to refund a portion of a cash deposit. I may have seen this or may have just assumed, but I think the kiosk would print a check rather than be able to refund actual cash (and change.) If you could get cash I'd be willing to bet there would be a charge for it.

In my experience, on Freedom last week, the gift cards only showed up at the kiosk and not on the in-room system. I would assume that they'd also show up on a print out from Guest Services. Other ships may, and most like do, vary.

FYI, the kiosk did have a nice option to email your S&S invoice to yourself... though now I realize that I never actually received it, so perhaps not such a great option.

I thought the 10% deal was dead back in mid-June?

Yes, for the one online directly by Carnival . . . but CCL does still offer a 10% discount on their e-gift cards through other loyalty programs (as does RCCL and one other).

I like my available option better, as I get the card for 90% of the cost and the remainder stays in my pocket, rather than being a bonus amount that must be spent with CCL. Mine is also available year-round. :)
