Doctor G Posted June 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2014 On board reflection on July 4, any idea if they'll be showing the games? I don't really know, but I would be surprised if they did. I was on the Celebrity Century during the Winter Olympics and they did not show any of the events. Carolyn

dkjretired Posted June 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 16, 2014 On board reflection on July 4, any idea if they'll be showing the games? Celebrity has already announced they will be carrying the games, they would probably have a revolt of the crew if they didn't show them.

Chamonixx Posted June 17, 2014 #6 Share Posted June 17, 2014 We just got back from a Baltic cruise and the NBA finals was on at 3:00am in the morning. This is if you were a Miami Heat or Pacers fan. The games between the Spurs and Thunder were not shown.

phoenix_dream Posted June 26, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 26, 2014 If there is any sport you can almost guarantee will be broadcast, it's soccer! Soccer, soccer, soccer, and more soccer - usually to the exclusion of any other sport.:(
Beachdude Posted June 26, 2014 #9 Share Posted June 26, 2014 They showed it on the Summit somewhere, not sure where. They showed the NBA final in one of the lounges. I was there, but can't remember which one. But this leads me to the question of if there just isn't enough interest in sports for Celebrity followers to justify a sports lounge like on other cruise lines? We have season college football tickets and tend to cruise in the fall. For us a sports lounge might make a difference in choosing a ship. Are we just a small minority? Rare cruisestitch Posted June 26, 2014 #10 Share Posted June 26, 2014 The problems include choosing which sports to show, getting satellite access, and the proper rights. And then there's the darn "modern luxury" theme....sports bars may not "fit" with that
