Carnival signs partnership with Cowboys

That, and I won't be buying any Dallas Cowboy/CCL branded merchandise on the ship either:).

And neither will anyone else because there won't be any Cowboys merchandise on any Carnival ship.

You and many others on this thread seem to be totally misinterpreting what this marketing partnership is.

Here's what it IS: The Dallas Cowboys are making Carnival Cruise Lines the Official Cruise Line of the Cowboys.

... the Dallas Cowboys are entering a marketing agreement that will expand Carnival's brand name at the team's stadium and other properties. The largest cruise operator in Texas said Thursday the multi-year deal will include giveaways for fans on game days and sponsorship of the team's training camp show on a regional sports cable network.

Miami-based Carnival will send golf carts around the stadium parking lots on game days offering prizes that will include cruise vacation giveaways. The cruise line also will have a presence in Cowboys media (Gameday Magazine / Digital changeable stadium signage) and online properties.

Here's what it IS NOT: Carnival Cruise Lines is making the Dallas Cowboys the official NFL football team of Carnival Cruise Lines.

Here's the official press release. Read it over and point out where it say's Cowboy's logo merchandise will be offered for sale aboard any Carnival ship.

Um, no thanks, I don't really care enough about the whole thing to read more about it (although I am glad they won't be selling Cowboy/CCL merchandise on the ships).

As a Giants fan who is currently sitting in the airport after taking yet another Carnival cruise...this makes me nauseous. Horrifying and senseless partnership.

Carnival loves giving me reasons to stay away.

If the thought of a Carnival FunTeam driving around in a golf cart giving away t-shirts in the pregame tailgating section of a football stadium 1400 miles away from your home makes you horrified and nauseous, perhaps it IS time to just stay away and move on.

While this is a nice change from smoking threads it's a reminder of how nasty die hard sports fans can be. We've sailed with some incredibly fun football fans who were classy and lots of fun. We've also sailed with a die hard baseball team fan who had a nasty hatred for an opposing team. Not a pleasant experience at all and one we'd never repeat again. I just hope that this partnership doesn't spill over to the actual cruises and the nasty side of sports fans spill onto the ships the way it has on this thread.

Sports, religion and politics have soured one of our previous cruises. We tend to avoid those situations on the ship.

Wow...some posters really need to take a breath and chill ..it's just a marketing agreement that raises Carnival's profile in the Dallas area which makes sense since Carnival will place a 3rd ship in Texas (Freedom) in Feb 2015...like a poster indicated, Carnival has a marketing agreement with the Saints in New Orleans..there is a calculated. $$$$ attached to a brand placement of Carnival banner at the stadium, when FOX does the national game of the week when the Cowboys play the Giants, Redskins, Seattle etc

What you will see, which many sports teams have been doing for years, are special sailings targeted for Cowboy fans which feature popular retired players, coaches and of course both present and former Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders...fans will pay a premium and the cruises will sell out quickly...do not be surprise when the Freedom arrives in Texas in Feb 15th, the Cowboy cheerleaders will be honorary adoptive Godmothers

You will see Carnival align itself with major music Festivals in Texas, (Austin Music Festival comes to mind, )with a marketing tie in to Carnival Live

It's all about filing an extra 1396 berths every week...has nothing to do with whether you like or hate the Cowboys

This is just CC being CC. The rest of the people away from CC are actually pretty nice. :)
