carlissaandisaacsmommy Posted August 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2014 We want to eat at Pancho's Backyard. It is in the Los Cinco Soles mall. We will be on an early excursion through Carnival to Dolphinaris. How close is it to Dolphinaris or to the port? OCruisers Posted August 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2014 We love having lunch at Poncho's Backyard at the downtown location. How far depends on your docking location. No matter, it's an easy taxi ride. :) LuLu
Rare crewsweeper Posted August 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2014 If you are on a Carnival ship and docking at Puerta Maya, where mot Carnival ships dock, there is an outlet for Cinco Soles in the cruise port shopping complex and they have a branch of Panchos Backyard there with patio seating over looking the pier and waterfront. Badgertr Posted August 19, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 19, 2014 We have stayed at Cozumel Palace next door to Dolphinaris. It was $5 cab ride to downtown, which we went to the original Los Cinco Soles, which has the original Panchos Backyard. Their rate is the same no matter where "in town" they drop you off. It has been a few years so it may have gone up slightly. Sent from my iPad using Forums
beverland Posted November 3, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 3, 2014 We have stayed at the Cozumel Palace and walked downtown often. It's a good walk if you enjoy walking. Otherwise take the cab as other posters have mentioned. Have fun!
OCruisers Posted November 3, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 3, 2014 You may want to check out their website to view the menu and print a coupon for a free margarita (with the purchase of a meal). http://www.panchosbackyard.com LuLu
snorkelman Posted November 5, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 5, 2014 I know this is a favorite here on these boards, but I was just kind of like, "meh" when I went there. It was okay, but nothing outstanding. I did not like the open air aspect, since when it is a hot day, the only break you get is a fan. No a/c. mrsfuzzmo Posted November 6, 2014 #10 Share Posted November 6, 2014 Dolphinaris is about 2/3rds of the way to town from Puerta Maya. You could easily walk to town from Dolphinaris or take a short cab ride if it's too hot out.

Although I did like the open air atmosphere. It was the food I thought was pretty bland. There are many great restaurants in Cozumel better than Pancho's. But that's just one man's opinion :)

This is what makes it a decent spot. It is right at the ship and if you are done with town a little early its not a bad last stop. Shots of tequila are shots of tequila :).
