Carnival inconsistency!

I am writing for a few reasons. First which cruise line besides CARNIVAL gives decent perks with consistency? Second to vent and see if anyone else would know of a reason for this. I cruised in. May, earned 5k points and a free cruise offer. Booked free cruise for August, sent email and asked for drinks onus card pre cruise and was told yes! On my August cruise got card upon boarding and earned over 11k points on my August cruise. Another free cruise offer, booked for sep. emailed and asked for drinks card and was told i was already getting a free inside cabin so no other comps will be given unless they are earned. I asked for them to give me the criteria for comps and they ignored my request. So obviously I will be enjoying my free cruise in Sept. But i am not going to spend my money in their casino. So looking for new line that will be more consistent in there comps. Any advice will be appreciated. I always have well over 5k points each cruise.

Don't know of any other cruises lines that have casino credits.

Many here like NCL for casino comps.

I don't know if you contacted the Ocean Players Club or Carnival Players Club. I have had better luck dealing with Carnival Players Club.

Check out this thread http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2069526

Yes i have called them. Never had a problem with them till now, but then again i feel its because i won a jackpot on the sailing in august.

I was not asking about credits i was asking about comps. Thanks for the replies. I will just do some checking into other lines. To all that think you get a drink card at 5k points, it is NOT TRUE.

You won't go wrong with NCL. They are the best by far. I sailed with them once. Got a comp certificate through land casino. Upon entering my comped upgraded balcony from inside my drink cards were in there for all 3 of us in our cabin. I received about 2500 pts on that cruise and called to see what I could get for my next cruise. I'm booked on a comped balcony for me and DH with both of us receiving drink cards plus $150 free play. For a total of $639 for 2 of us on a 7 night on the Breakaway. Plus 10% off my sisters and my sons cabins.

NCL is the best by far!!!

They must have changed things, because I always get the drinks on us card as well as the free interior cabin on my bounceback offers, as I always get over the 5.000 points like you. Do you know if they are still issuing the drink cards to people who earn 1500 points on the current cruise? I am cruising on Monday and was told I would get the drink card. It better be there!

I have always received it also! They still offer the card at 1500 points. I am sure it will be there for you. I asked for their criteria for drinks card and was not given a reply. Great customer service!

I have never received a free cabin offer interior or otherwise with Carnival and I always have over 5000 pts. When I called Michael B. to complain and ask if I would finally be getting a Drinks on Us Card the first night of the cruise this time he said yes so we shall see. It appears Carnival has no set rules for who gets what offers from their casinos!!!!! And yes if you earn 1500 points you will get a drink card.

I was told by Michael Bayonna that I wouldn't be getting the drink card on my Aug Breeze cruise because it was a casino offer cruise. He was wrong!....the drink card was waiting for me when I got to the casino the first night.....

was it a premier cruise? Also, if you book the casino rate, not premier, do they always give drink cards?

You do not get a drink card with a regular casino rate unless you had at least 5000 pts your previous cruise. Premier cruisers always get the drink card regardless.

There really is no rhyme nor reason with Carnival's casino 'perks.' I e-mailed Mr. Bayona prior to a quickie cruise on the Inspiration in 2012 - was told I got all the perks and $150 cash. Got on board, and even with a copy of the e-mail, I got nothing. Earned almost 9,000 points on a 3 night cruise. Then I had a free cruise with them from the Golden Nugget in Vegas. E-mailed Mr. Bayona to ask about any perks from my last CCL cruise and was told I got nothing since it was a free cruise. Lo and behold, I had a drink card waiting for me and the casino host was lovely - sent us a bottle of wine, strawberries, etc. Earned over 5,000 points there. Then got a free cruise offer from Carnival a few weeks later, and asked about my drink card for earning over 5,000 points on the last cruise - was told no again. *sigh* Talked to the host on the ship and he took care of all of my drinks.

I've given up on hoping for any consistency from Carnival's casino program. Unless it's free, works with my schedule, and I can drive to the port, Carnival and their casinos are not for me any more. Norwegian has been fantastic, and actually provides you a list of perks based on your points. And I like calling and asking about specific cruises that I want to sail and getting them comped by NCL, rather than hoping for a random free offer for one ship and limited sailings from Carnival.

I agree with FootballParent and samiam0403, NCL has been generous with their comps. After my second cruise using certificates from land based casinos, I called to ask about a cruise I was interested in taking on the Breakaway on October 5th and they comped me a balcony cabin. I asked if I would be getting a drink card and I was told that you always get one when you book through CAS. I have also received lots of offers in the mail for tournaments and events that include a comped cabin and other perks. I called about an offer that includes $200.00 in freeplay and they are comping me a mini suite on our cruise on the Breakaway in November. So far, I'm very happy with the way NCL has treated me.
