OTownNick Posted May 21, 2015 #428 Share Posted May 21, 2015 Bob, yes the offer is for CR members only and it appears the wine thing is also exclusive for the members. Please note that even if someone is a CR member, if they didn't get the email invite they will not be eligible for the offer.
Clarea Posted May 21, 2015 #429 Share Posted May 21, 2015 Here is the Flyer from the email50% discount on room, very nice indeed.. Please note that even if someone is a CR member, if they didn't get the email invite they will not be eligible for the offer. Our opinion is to always call, if not enough CR members took the deal, you could get included, and if the cruise isn't selling where RCL wants it, the CR dept might get allocated extra cabins! We've called in the past, and received offers that we didn't get the original email, etc..

Yea. It's definitely worth a try. When I get offers my CR friends don't get,I tell them to call and try.So far they have gotten rejected but it's still worth a try. seaofwonder Posted May 21, 2015 Author #433 Share Posted May 21, 2015 I keep getting the 50% off ones for August. Keep hoping they'll switch it to free. The Caribbean in August....I just can't pay for that!
MaritimeR&R Posted May 22, 2015 #434 Share Posted May 22, 2015 Some ships do the tickets. That is how it was on my Baltic cruise, but my allure cruise was a sticker. Both my friend and I are Casino VIPs and play slots exclusively. Last month when we were on the Oasis and given our stickers by the casino host Adrian, I noted for the first time a difference between my sticker and my friends. Mine was as it has always been but my friends was slightly larger and had a gold star emblazoned on hers. I average around 6K points for a 7 day cruise; she averages around 33K. Both of us wondered if the difference between our stickers was a preview of the tiers to come. My sticker did not seem to affect the drinks I normally get while in the casino. When we asked Adrian, he skirted the question.
Daghis Posted May 22, 2015 #435 Share Posted May 22, 2015 (edited) Here is the Flyer from the email Thank you for sharing it. I noticed that I didn't receive it in e-mail, so I called Club Royale. They did note that it was sent to selected members, but she did find that I was on that list and couldn't explain why I didn't receive it. (My offer was for 25% off, though.) It's a bit frustrating for me that I'm not receiving promotional mailings from Club Royale, or even Royal Caribbean in general. I recently sailed on Norwegian, and their Casinos at Sea is sending me frequent offers for free cruises. I really like Royal Caribbean and will continue to sail with them, but NCL's free cruise offers are very attractive and NCL will receive some of my business in the future as a result. Agreed, marketing is much stronger on other cruise lines now then at RCL in the casino area. Up until a couple years ago, we felt RCL had the best casino program going, but we don't feel that way anymore. RCL cutbacks, and other cruise lines enhancing their casino programs makes it all about equal now. Carnival and NCL both have stepped up their offerings. So if it was RCL's intent for their Casino Club to be equal to(maybe even less then) the others, congratulations they succeeded.:D Edited May 22, 2015 by American Bear

I don't see Club Royale and Casinos at Sea as equal. Casinos at Sea seems to be treating their members much better than Club Royale. Club Royale was intended to be a program with exclusive membership, while Casinos at Sea is open to all, with tiered benefits. That alone doesn't make Casinos at Sea better, but when they're offering my level of play a free week-long cruise in a balcony cabin while Club Royale gives me an $850 rebate for the same amount of play, I'm definitely interested in NCL. (That's why we're doing an NCL/RCI pair of cruises next spring. :))
jd10367 Posted May 25, 2015 #438 Share Posted May 25, 2015 I must be doing something wrong. I called CR twice to confirm my rebate.. Yup yup all set. Get on board and it's not there. Host gets it there for Monday, no big deal. She also puts a sticker on my card and hands me 4 drink coupons. Again, I can't get what ever I want, I'm limited. No mudslides or piña coladas. Ok I get my toasted almonds. I pretip the bartender, telling him this is for past and future drinks. He knows me. He made my drinks all week. I didn't have a coupon with me and asked for a drink... Well... Any chance you can get me that coupon???? Sure I'm on my way to trivia can I get the drink and get it after.. Well .. Ok just don't forget. I spent every waking hour in that casino except the last day. ( sea day) I was out for the count with a bad cold. One day I asked for a diet coke and he asked for the coupon. Meanwhile I have a sofa package anyway. The host gave me several more coupons throughout the week and kept asking if I needed more. Most of the time I was set. On the last note.. She had no clue about what program changes were coming. Or so she said. But, since corporate doesn't know either I'm sure she doesn't.

As far as the rebate, that has happened to me once so I know the feeling of not having a rebate ready for you. In all the years that I have been in the program, I've never been told that CR drinks are limited to specific drinks. Never had a problem ordering a mudslide, pina colada or a double chocolate martini on the rocks. What ship were you on? OTownNick Posted May 25, 2015 #440 Share Posted May 25, 2015 (edited) I also one time had no rebate or anything ready for me on the EN, even after a few phone call confirmations before the cruise. So I had to wait a day to get it. Not a big deal. I've also never been limited to the type of drink so that maybe ship specific. No one knows any details of the new program. Just off the EN and I noticed now the final night raffle is $300 instead of the usual $500. I wonder if they reduced this on 3 night cruises? jd10367 Posted May 25, 2015 #441 Share Posted May 25, 2015 We were on the Serenade 5/16 sailing. When I saw the cashier look for the rebate sheet she only had 2 papers so it's not as though there were a ton of us on board. Why am I limited? And why do I always seem to need the coupons? Grrrr. The casino is the only place I get drinks now. Why pay at a bar when I don't have too. But it's annoying either have to have it in my pocket all the time or have to run to the cabin after dinner. maryjaden Posted May 26, 2015 #442 Share Posted May 26, 2015 When I was on the Oasis the week before Easter, the casino host put a Casino VIP sticker on my card. I never had drink coupons, but was able to drink in the casino all week. I generally order mixed drinks, but occasionally had a martini. I was never told I was limited to specific drinks.I am not sure if this is something that varies from ship to ship.
bighairtexan Posted May 27, 2015 #443 Share Posted May 27, 2015 Perhaps it varies from week to week and ship to ship. I was on the Navigator last month and I think he said I had to have a drink $12 and under and my lemon drops were $14? Something irritating like that. jd10367 Posted June 2, 2015 #444 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Has anyone ever split their rebates? Half goes towards balance and half cash in casino? We are on Anthem next Feb, so the rebates should still apply. I haven't called CR yet to find out how much it is from our cruise 2 weeks ago, but it should be a nice one. Hopefully. itching2cruiseagain Posted June 2, 2015 #445 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Glad to see this thread is revived. One of the changes a rep told me about on the phone is aggravating, only one entry to a special event per household. For example Hubby and I both qualified for the slot tournament cruise on IOS in August. They said we can only have one entry. Talk about foolish on their part. After letting them know our thoughts on that, we had to wait on hold while they got special clearance from a supervisor. I had them send an email to us confirming we would both get an entry into the tournament. Many couples play on one card to earn a better standing, which I explained to them we could do too, but don't. To disqualify someone because their spouse or a member of their household also earned it is unacceptable in my book.
swiss2619 Posted June 2, 2015 #446 Share Posted June 2, 2015 Don't know if this is another change, however, it was a first for me. I had booked a 6/2016 cruise on Anthem through Casino Royale. Yesterday, I noticed that with Royal Caribbean's 30/30 sale, the rates for that particular cruise had dropped. In the past, if the Royal Caribbean rate dropped, the CR rate also dropped. However, when the rep checked, he said the regular RC rate was better than the CR rate. HUH?? When I asked if the regular rate could be used and then the CR discount applied, the answer was no. If I cancelled and then immediately rebooked the same suites through the regular route with a Diamond Plus rep, it would be less expensive but I would be in danger of losing those specific suites. Anyone had this experience lately? Just wondering what is going on.... Swiss

maryjaden Posted June 9, 2015 #448 Share Posted June 9, 2015 I received the same offer. As I am going on the Liberty in October (was on the Oasis in March), I need to replenish the coffers before I book another cruise. But I would be interested also if cruisers are getting a good rate. Happy Bee Posted June 10, 2015 #449 Share Posted June 10, 2015 Anyone else get a message today about some casino cruise specials with the subj: Enjoy these sailings with your special Casino rate! It does not give prices or discount amount so I was wondering if anyone called and if they were getting good rates. The ships were Oasis, a Enchantment and Majesty. Thanks, Yes, I called and asked. Rep said this kind of email just reminder that you are eligable to casino rate and maybe you will book it :)
Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted June 20, 2015 #450 Share Posted June 20, 2015 I have not sailed on with Royal in a couple of years - so I'm curious about their casino program, as it stands now. Just got off the Solstice a week ago where we enjoyed a flat 20% discount on our suite thanks to their Blue Chip Club. Looking a cruise this summer on the Freedom OTS and was curious if Club Royale extends the same kind of discount - that would be a savings of ~$1,000. I doubt, at this point, that I have any $ left on the table in terms of cash rebates - but of course it's SATURDAY so I can't call Club Royal to find out any of this. BTW - I do get several mailings each year from Club Royal for discounted sailings, tournaments and such ... so I suppose I'm a "member". THANKS, Tom
