No problem. I just called Gerry, or Mr Cahill as most of you call him, and asked him to put them up just for you.

Could you get him to fix the cheers price back to the recently lowered price? There are a lot of unhappy campers out here!

Actually, he said just to buy a eGift card. You will get a 10% discount and therefore your cheers package will be close to the lowered price.

Yes you can put it towards your sail and sign account but according to others on CC you have to do it once onboard. Not a big deal really as you can go to the kiosks and do it. Whatever you may not use up will be given back in the form of another gift card. I don't recommend buying the cruise cash as some others might tell you to do. It is non refundable and then you have to do some cash out scheme in the casino :D if you happen to have leftover funds. These verizon egift cards are really a good deal at 10% off. You buy them on Verizon's site and then Carnival actually sends you an email with the pertinent information.

It was within a couple minutes for me. They send you an email with a link to your egift card(s) . This is pure speculation on my part but I would guess that if your cruise is paid off with a credit card you could get Carnival to refund the credit card and pay with the egift cards. I am before final payment so I had Carnival refund my 1000 dollars on my cc and I paid with the gift cards which saved me another 100 dollars.

Is that possible to do if you booked through a travel agency or did you book through carnival directly?

All you have to do is log into your Verizon Wireless account and sign up for Smart Rewards if you haven't already and you can view all kinds of deals including the Carnival eGift cards by utilizing your points.

it's the Verizon smart rewards program. You have to sign up and then go to the gift cards. if you aren't a member just google "Verizon smart rewards" and then register. I would recommend not buying "cruise dollars" but buy the egift cards. They can be used for everything. They are in and out of stock, so if they are out just keep trying.

So if I buy the e-cards at a 10% discount and I use my Carnival Mstrcrd to purchase them, do I get double points for a Carnival purchase?

Now I'm not sure of this answer since it does appear as "Verizon Smart Rewards" on your statement and not Carnival, but I'm sure someone who knows can definitely verify this one for you.

So if you buy these, and apply them to your sign and sail account, does that pay your gratuities as well?

Yes, you can apply these eGift cards to your sign and sail account once on board to use for anything including gratuities (I'll definitely be doing that for next month and also used them to pay off my balances last month).

I have been looking into buying these, I owe $1600 in January. How do I use these to pay off my cruise?

And If I buy $2000. will the extra be placed on my S&S account?

So, you can definitely buy $2000 worth of cards and will save $200, which is great! You can either use them online to pay balance or just call your PVP or TA to have them applied to your account. You can use the remainder of the eGift card to put towards your sail and sign account once you are onboard, so make sure to print out the ones with balances and take with you for that.

You have to book the cruise with Carnival directly. Some people have stated that their TA has been able to use them but it didn't work for me with Expedia.

I called Expedia last week to specifically ask them if the Carnival eGift cards could be used for a cruise booked via Expedia. The person I spoke with left me on hold while she checked with Carnival. She came back and said yes, I could use a Carnival eGift card.

Fast forward to last night, I called and was told, no, you have to book directly with Carnival to use them. But they told me to call back today and maybe there would be a supervisor who could make it work. Today I spent half an hour on the phone with Expedia, who spoke with two different Carnival people, who said no. So I'm a little annoyed right now, I wouldn't have purchased the eGift card when I did if I knew I'd have to use my credit card instead!

Jko121 you'll have to apply those once you get on board. Then, yes they can pay for gratuities. That is if your cruise is already paid in full. I applied my verizon rewards to my cruise fare and had a little over 3.00 left and I will have to wait until I am on board to use them.
