Merion_Mom Posted November 9, 2014 Author #327 Share Posted November 9, 2014 Beautiful pictures of St. Lucia: (it rained on and off all day, although we didn't ever get very wet. Good timing of being inside vs outside. Please excuse the raindrops on the windows) Tedi bought a "reversible" doll for her granddaughter from a roadside vendor: Next we stopped and learned about bananas: The blue plastic bags are encasing and protecting the "hand" of bananas as they grow. The closeup in the middle shows the 'seed' and the teeny tiny little bananas as they start their growth.

Merion_Mom Posted November 9, 2014 Author #331 Share Posted November 9, 2014 The white in the middle of the photo is the steam rising from the volcano on the other side of the island from where I was standing at the moment. Eventually we would get there. Pretty picture: LOOK AT THAT WATER!!! Gorgeous! Pretty flowers: Pretty clouds:

Merion_Mom Posted November 9, 2014 Author #334 Share Posted November 9, 2014 There's the volcano in the distance again: Artistic shot through the foliage: Here are those pitons again: And now I discover that my uploads on this album are all messed up. I am going to have to fix that before I can post more pictures of St. Lucia. <sigh>
Merion_Mom Posted November 9, 2014 Author #335 Share Posted November 9, 2014 Please....explain last evening's photo. Please. :D:D:D San Juan: A guy stands there and wants you to hold his parrots and pay him for taking pictures. St. Kitts: A guy stands there and wants you to hold his monkeys and pay him for taking pictures. St. Lucia? It's a boa constrictor. :) (I don't think that it was doing anything other than hanging there. No feeding on rodents) :D

mattwright Posted November 9, 2014 #342 Share Posted November 9, 2014 (edited) Have they said when the life boat is going to be fixed and/or moved back into place? I'm kind of surprised that wasn't already done at one of the ports. Is that part of the promenade deck still closed off to passengers? beachbuddy Posted November 9, 2014 #344 Share Posted November 9, 2014 Patty, we very much enjoyed St. Lucia too! Yeah.......good to hear Stacey!! This is going to be a "Girls Week"......LOL Never did that before (well, at least not in the 42 years that I've been married) but looking forward to it! My friend that I worked with has a timeshare and invited me to join her and another girlfriend of ours so it's 3 of us going. I only had to pay for airfare and bring food money. We're not doing the all inclusive so we can eat at different places. She booked all 3 airfares for us this past summer when she found a good rate so we're all paid and set. Really looking forward to it now. Thanks for everyone's feedback.
music Posted November 11, 2014 #345 Share Posted November 11, 2014 Wow, great review and pictures! I just went thru the whole thread. We will be on the Explorer in December with some newbies. Would it be too much to ask, next time you are getting that chocolate martini, for you to get a few pics of the drink menu? They are trying to make the drink package decision. Thanks and enjoy the rest of the cruise.

I had dinner with the Captain last night, and that is one of the questions that I asked him. ;) It will be fixed when we get to Port Canaveral, not before. Wow, great review and pictures! Merion_Mom Posted November 11, 2014 Author #347 Share Posted November 11, 2014 Sorry about the time lag, folks. I've been doing other things. Like having dinner with Captain Rick. Unfortunately, I have few pictures, since I had better things to do. ;) It was BLAZING hot in Curaçao today. We went out in the morning, and the famous pontoon bridge was "closed for work/construction". Fortunately, we knew that there was a "free water taxi" alternative. It was a ferry, and it was jampacked. But fun. And an extremely short ride. We walked around town for several hours and then headed back to the ship, at which time, the pontoon bridge was available! Apparently it was VERY temporary construction! So we got to do both. Pictures are coming in a few minutes, after I spend some time uploading and downloading and uploading and downloading. The Big Booper Posted November 11, 2014 #348 Share Posted November 11, 2014 All of town near the Pontoon Bridge looks great. All the buildings look great in their bright pastel colors. Vision came in as we were off on our taxi ride to the Seaquarium (highly recommended even without kids). When was the last time you fed fish to a live shark. SNAP!! Looks like my thread will not be a live. Too many pictures to integrate into a lot of text from 3 cameras using a new web hosting service.
