yogimax Posted November 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2014 First booked a balcony on Enchantment about a year ago. In the last two months I have moved the booking from... Balcony to Inside (price drop saving over $200) Inside to Outside (price drop after final payment) Outside to Balcony (another price drop) Balcony to Suite Guarantee (price drop today, first suite ever) That's one reason I like to maintain control over my reservation and deal directly wit RCCL. Clarea Posted November 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2014 Great move to the inside before final! That gave you much "upward mobility"!:)
Ashland Posted November 22, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2014 Timing is everything and luck with pricing. Agree...One of the many advantages to keeping ownership of your RCI booked reservation. No one can readjust and make split second decisions like many of us that don't have a 3rd party involved. Congrats :D
Blizzard54 Posted November 22, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 22, 2014 Great moves. That is a great example of why to have direct bookings.
molly361 Posted November 22, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 22, 2014 Good deal. I keep thinking of booking an inside and hoping to upgrade but I always chicken out
yogimax Posted November 22, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted November 22, 2014 Thanks to all. I have to say that I have never encountered any problems with the RCCL reps. I remember once I had booked through a TA who then went away for a week's vacation. That's when I decided the few extra bucks or a bottle of wine weren't really worth it. tm3750 Posted November 22, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 22, 2014 I booked an inside cabin for our Dec 23, 2014 Christmas cruise on the Explorer and then kept calling and checking pricing. Got moved to a promenade cabin about 3 weeks ago and then last weekend got moved from the Promenade to a D2 Balcony. No charge. Now hoping I can wiggle into a JS before we sail. leinhto Posted November 22, 2014 #8 Share Posted November 22, 2014 I'd like a repeat of that story on my booking.
monctonguy Posted November 24, 2014 #9 Share Posted November 24, 2014 I just changed mine to a studio room, saved $100 AND got a $50 OBC just before the final payment date. Now to watch and see if I can get upgraded in the next 59 days...
