kelkel2 Posted December 15, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 15, 2014 I've never done one, but once on the cruise the staff doesn't know you from someone who booked 15 months in advance. It's not like they put a sign on your card that say's this person's rate was cheaper than this ones. The beauty of cruising is that everyone pays different rates. You may have a balcony next door to mine and it may be identical to mine but I may have paid $200 more or less than you. It's just what the cruise line does to sell the rooms. kelkel2 Posted December 15, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 15, 2014 Thankyou for your input ,I hope you are right because I am taking my land lord from my shop . I just do not want some BS crap Almost all cruise lines do sales. Especially last minute sales. It is better for them to sail full than with empty rooms. They make money off of the typical passenger in drinks, photos, and other items while they are on the ship. It would be far too much work for the the cruise lines to find out what rate you booked and then notify those on board who will be serving you. I promise you you won't be treated differently. What will make you be treated differently is if you go with a disrespectful attitude towards those who are there to help you. They are some of the hardest working people you will ever meet. If you are kind to them they will be kind back.
Cruzlover7 Posted December 15, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 15, 2014 Kelkel2 you are so right! I've cruised 13 times with carnival and never came across a rude employee.
mickide Posted December 16, 2014 #8 Share Posted December 16, 2014 Have you got one before I haven't but I've had some pretty low casino rate cruises and like other's have said, the crew doesn't know what I paid. I have fun on vacation and go with that attitude and it seems to spill over to the crew that I encounter. You shouldn't have any BS :). Go and have a great time! Can'tWait2SetSail Posted December 16, 2014 #10 Share Posted December 16, 2014 I don't know why the crew would care what you paid for your cruise. Their tips are not based on cruise price.
SCOT Posted December 16, 2014 Author #11 Share Posted December 16, 2014 I don't know why the crew would care what you paid for your cruise. Their tips are not based on cruise price. When you got it free they might think you should give them a bigger tip. I over tip any how , I just don't want them to think that they deserve. Cruzin2paradise09 Posted December 16, 2014 #15 Share Posted December 16, 2014 No different than flying. You know the people in first class paid more but if you're in economy you have no idea. Quit worrying about it and have a good time. Sent from my iPad using Forums

stargate fan Posted December 16, 2014 #17 Share Posted December 16, 2014 How dose Carnival treat you on the cruise if you have gotten one I booked a Platinum special-$140 pp plus $100 pp on board credit for a balcony cabin on Lido deck. Mom and I received service that was as great as on every other of my 14 Carnival cruises.
sailor_jimc Posted December 16, 2014 #18 Share Posted December 16, 2014 No one on the ship has ANY idea of what you paid for your cabin nor should they care. I have done multiple free cruises and not been treated any differently than on any of my other 23 cruises... And why would they? There are no class differences on cruise ships.. it's not like you are sailing in steerage instead of the first class cabins... As long as you pay your tips and pay your bill they don't care how you got on the ship.. MOST of the money that they make comes from on board sales any way. ShellLoves2cruise Posted December 16, 2014 #19 Share Posted December 16, 2014 (edited) How dose Carnival treat you on the cruise if you have gotten one I sailed on an 8 day Sunshine cruise that was booked months in advance...got home and my friend called wanting to take a quick get away for her birthday. We booked a pack and play rate on Tuesday for a Thursday sailing on the Paradise, got a lovely Veranda deck cabin and were treated wonderfully on both cruises! Like others have already said, the crew doesn't know when you booked or what you paid and we've always been treated fantastic!! :) Edited December 16, 2014 by ShellLoves2cruise
