Thank you!!! Looks like we will have her for her last sailing!!

Your welcome! I glad we get to cruise with her. I sailed with her on the pride a few years back I think she was assistant cruise director. She was a lot of fun then.

I'm loving following along! Thanks for the live review. Such a great idea!

What internet package did you purchase? How is the speed? It was so slow on the Dream last year that I rarely used it.

How bad are the anytime dining lines? Dream lines weren't ever longer than 10 or 15 minutes. I don't know if my preschoolers will tolerate any longer than that. ;) We may sign up for early dining, in that case...

Glad you are enjoying the live review!

I have the $60 plan. Not fast enough for streaming video but adequate for email, surfing etc. Much faster than other ships I have been on (Dream) not as fast as home. I am told the $99 plan is faster and supports streaming. It is nice that you can upgrade your plan if you find it too slow. All in all a good deal for unlimited access.

I do not love the ATD set up. There is normally a long line on deck 5 near Taste Bar to get your seat. Once you get your seat assignment you go to deck 3 to the dining room. Once at the dining room there is not much of a wait. If I were to sail Sunshine again I would choose assigned dining.

Off to Grand Turk today!

Any other questions? Having fun doing this live review.

If you get a chance can you take some pics or a short video of the cabin area on deck 5 promenade? Also in grand turk, if you or anyone you know rents a golf cart, I would like to know the price and how/where you go to get one. Of course don't bother with any of this if it's out of your way. You are on vacation!

Have you been by the slides?

I was on last week, there's lots of options on deck 5 while waiting for your buzzer to go off (we were group of 12, smaller groups got seated immediately). Red Rum bar has shuffle board, foosball and usually live music or there is casino or alchemy bar. Love grabbing something from the Taste Bar each day, very creative and delicious. I never tried the Steakhouse but ordered steak and eggs off Sea Day brunch and petit filet mignon was delicious. Had Beef twice in MDR and both times fantastic, Day 4 the chateaubriand portion was large and super yummy and day 6 the prime rib was tasty too. In my opinion, no need for extra $ on steakhouse items.

I did not rent a golf cart but I saw ATV for rent at the port, do not Know how much $$. We rented a cabana, best money spent during the cruise. I liked having shade, A/C when needed and a place to lock up our stuff. No necessary as there was plenty of free seating at the pool and beach but was a great luxury. There were some very friendly dogs roaming the beach that were fun. The folks on the beach selling stuff, tours etc were super friendly and not pushy. Had a great, relaxing day in GT. Now getting ready for dinner, comedy show then sea day tomorrow before we have to get off the ship for good :(

Do you plan on trying Ji Ji and the Italian restaurants? If yes, how had is it to get reservations for these?

Going to the Italian restaurant tomorrow. Not difficult to get reservations on this sailing.

Does the Sunshine really seem more crowded than any other ship?

Not all the time. Lido set up is better IMHO. There are many venues for passengers to be so throughout the day it seems similar to other ships I have been on. However, I have encountered more lines (ATD, comedy club, shows) than in other ships. Overall my impression is no, in general it does not seem more crowded.

1st sea day on the Sunshine. I am pleasantly surprised. Service is great, staff super friendly and food is above average. Only 2 bucket seen, no bad smell. The lounges are small but not horribly. The only negative is that the MDR seating is slow. Long line for brunch this am at 9:45. Waited 15 min the went to Lido. This is our 3rd Carnival cruise and so far very happy. Any questions?

How's the weather in the evening?

Which dining room for assigned seating is considered the "main dining room" and what level is it on? Do either of the dining rooms have an awesome ocean view?

There are 2 dining rooms, 1 midship and 1 aft. The lower level (deck 3) of aft is ATD, deck 4 assigned. The rear of the aft dining room has great aft views. Windows all around.

Except on the sailings where YTD is in the upper (deck 4) AFT dining room

I've never found the Steakhouse on any Carnivl ship to be truly exceptional, like top end steakhouses across the country (Keen's, CUT, Sparks, Cattlemen's, etc.) Rather the meals are along the lines of mid-upper end steakhouse chains, like Ruths Chris or Capital Grille. And none of these franchisees cook for 4-6thousand guests in a year, let alone 3-4 meals a day.

Similarly, MDR food isn't along top Michelin 3 or 4 Star dining, but equivalent to mid-higher end local hotel banquet dining (as opposed to higher end resort stand alone dining rooms).

To expect more, at the price point, is to fantasy world. To deride the food because it isn't up to French Laundry standards is ridiculously snobby.

For many millions in this country, the best sit-down restaurant in town is Applebee's, Red Lobster or Olive Garden. That's the level you need to compare MDR/buffet meals too, not Le Berdardin.

Relax. All he did was explain what to expect.

Be sure to report back in the Italian after you try it. Enjoy your day!!

Will do. BTW Guys burgers are fantastic. One of the best I have had. Fries are great too. Never a long wait.
