Cabin choice

Please give me your opinions. Currently have an aft corner cabin on Ruby (premium) but can get a side mini suite for the same price. Let me know your thoughts please.

Most responses will tell you to keep the view over the stern.

But it's entirely up to you which you prefer:

(1) A larger balcony in a premium location; or

(2) A sofa, a bathtub, and a glass of cheap sparkling wine.

A 2nd TV , a larger cabin and not such a long walk to many things are additional plus's for the more midship Mini.

I visited a friend's aft facing balcony on the Crown which was mostly covered whereas the mini balconies are completely uncovered except for a few covered cabins on Emerald deck aft.

Just my opinion, but I would take the view from the aft over a bathtub and two TVs any day.

My wife and I kept our stern-facing balcony rather than move to a mini. We had C752 on Grand and it has been my wife's favorite cabin to date.

 

You will get more motion on the stern. It didn't bother us at all.

Hhahaha, I think the cheap sparkling wine comment says it all. But do you really get one in a mini suite?

 

Personally, I would go for the aft balcony.

You should do whatever pleases you. I enjoy the rear cabins view. If you want more space amenities then the mini. I don't need a bath tub however. We had one in a suite and never used it.

I do like the aft cabin views. However, on one of my cruises to Mexico I was offered an upgrade to a dolphin deck mini from an Aloha aft. I took the upgrade and never regretted it. I loved the extra space in the cabin. I loved the larger balcony even more. I did not mind that the balcony was uncovered. I never felt like people were looking down on me with interest in what I was doing on my balcony. Plus, I loved sitting on my balcony at night. I had a full view of the sky with all the amazing stars. In a covered balcony you cannot sit in a chair and just look up at the sky. When you look up, you just see the floor of the cabin above you. Not all feel this way, but it was my experience.
