Isa65 Posted January 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2015 Does anyone know what the smoking areas are on the ship? And does anyone have information on the square footage of the different cabin types?
soccersharon Posted January 27, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2015 I can't answer the smoking question, but here's a link to deck plans, which includes square footage: https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/Carnival-Vista Sent from my iPad. Typos are inevitable.

soccersharon Posted January 27, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) You're welcome! Here's a link to smoking areas by ship. Perhaps the Vista areas will be similar to the Breeze. http://www.carnival.com/~/media/CCLUS/Images/pdf/carnival-ship-approved-smoking-areas-pdf.ashx Sent from my iPad. Typos are inevitable. trvlgirlmq Posted January 27, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 27, 2015 I hope they make this information really available to those booking the Havana balcony rooms. The entire deck 5 on one side of the ship is smoking and I would not want to book a room within that proximity to the smoke.

For those that are interested in the smoking policy on the Vista, here is the official posting Please note that after earlier discussions, we have designated the following locations where smoking will be permitted on the Carnival Vista: • Deck 4 – Interior Space – Casino & Casino Bar • Deck 11 – Exterior Space – Port side Aft Sent from my iPad. gone_cruisin Posted January 28, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 28, 2015 I looked over the deckplan. Knowing that on the Magic and Breeze you can smoke on the outside area near the Red Frog Pub, I "think" Carnival will allow for a small area near the Red Frog on this ship. They'll have to be very limited otherwise the area will drift into the Havana Cabanas. This is just my guess.

However, we are bringing our smoking parents with us. We shall see.

Typos are inevitable. I wish I could find that post and reply to his response. At this time, they have no smoking areas on the Lido. You would think they could make one of the bars a smoking area. Either Red Frog or Blue Iguana.

You have to go one deck up to find the smoking areas - that's been my experience on the Breeze and Liberty :) Sent from my iPad. Typos are inevitable. BaseballMomof4 Posted January 29, 2015 #16 Share Posted January 29, 2015 I don't mind going one deck up. One deck up and all the way to the rear of the ship is something else altogether.
Cruisertommyboy Posted January 29, 2015 #17 Share Posted January 29, 2015 I really don't want to get involved in a smoking thread but since the OP asked here is my 2 cents. IMHO the majority of smokers abide by the smoking area policy. By creating more restrictive areas, it will lead to more smokers lighting up where ever thus creating considerable ill will among the passengers. I for one am a smoker that has a cabin on deck 10 forward. That is an awful long way to walk. Just saying Tom

I also booked a cabin on Deck 10 forward assuming that would put me closer to a smoking area so I could easily comply with the rules. I am hoping the smoking areas for the Vista are still a work in progress. Apparently it started with just the casino and Deck 11 Port side aft and then yesterday Heald included the lanai. Hopefully there will be some area on Deck 11 forward added as well like most of the other ships. Time will tell...

Gypsywych Posted August 7, 2016 #20 Share Posted August 7, 2016 I have not sailed yet, but this is what is on the Carnival website. Carnival Vista Cigarette smoking (including electronic cigarettes and personal vaporizers) are permitted in the following areas: Vista Casino: Smoking is permitted while playing at designated slot machines and table games. Vista Bar: Smoking is permitted in designated area. Outdoors: Smoking is permitted in designated areas on Deck 5 (starboard side, forward) and Deck 11 (starboard side, aft and starboard side, forward-above the Redfrog Rum Bar). Note: Cigar and tobacco pipes are only permitted in the outdoor designated areas on Deck 5 (starboard side, forward) and Deck 11 (starboard side, aft). https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3490/~/locations-where-you-can-smoke#vista
BaseballMomof4 Posted August 8, 2016 #21 Share Posted August 8, 2016 (edited) Just wondering since you have sailed,, Where are the official smoking area's Any place you can lay back enjoy the sun? Bars? Thanks Deck 11 aft is where I spent most of my time and yes, there are loungers there as well as other seating. It was the entire side of that area that was smoking and it was very comfortable. The lanai area on deck 5 was very nice as well and situated nicely for an after dinner stop. All in all, I found the smoking areas very comfortable and well taken care of. The Deck 11 area was great for grabbing a cup of coffee in the aft area on Deck 10 in the morning and heading upstairs and after dinner was nice on Deck 5. Thank you Baseballmom, Could you tell me on deck 11, is it only the aft? so there is no area in the middle of deck 11 like above the pool area? Also on Deck 5 is the lanai area smoking in the back or front or midship? Thank you
