I found Rome in Limo for as we plan to spend 3 post cruise.

Any and all info or direction are most appreciated..there are 4 of us traveling

If you're looking for "non-ship" excursions, I'd try Tripadvisor, or go to the "Ports-of-Call" section, here on C/C. We did the Med in 2001 on Connie and loved it. It is still our #1 cruise.

If you haven't joined the Roll Call for your sailing please do so. You will find others also seeking excursions for your itinerary. And there is no doubt that these small group excursions are the best way to enjoy each port in the most efficient way.

Happy planning!!!!

Get a copy of Rick Steves' Mediterranean Cruise Ports. He tells you what there is to do in port in the time you have, and how to do it on your own. You may find you do not need to book an excursion in every port. EM

ditto the Rick rec. He will really help you sort out which ports you might want to do tours in, the ship's or private, and also give you the logistics for do-it-yourself. Some ports are far from the sights - he will give you public transportation advice. Often walking tours are included and background info on the country and such. The book will be money well spent.

We are doing our first Med cruise in May of this year. It is the 10 day cruise from Barcelona to Rome on the Equinox.

We booked quite a few excursions through Celebrity, and then slowly one by one ended up cancelling them all. Reason being is we found much better options on the roll call for our cruise. The roll call was a very pleasant surprise - so much information, and lots of helpful, friendly people! Of course we also did our homework by reading guidebooks etc so we had a good idea of what we wanted to see and do.

Prior to this we have only done Caribbean cruises - the Med cruise definitely took a lot more research and planning, but that is half the fun!

How do we enroll in the roll call? We leave Barcelona on the Equinox 5/11. Thx!

Go to the top of this thread. You will see in red, Find Your Celebrity Roll Call.

Put in the name of ship sailing date and then hit on the llnk to your roll call. You can also see all the ports and review of ports . It is located on the left hand side of the roll call page. this s a new feature of CC.

Enjoy.
