PORT ROYAL Posted April 3, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2015 (edited) Has anyone been to Coconut Beach Club lately? Comments? If considering this type of beach club for a vacation in Antigua, then look first at Curtain Bluff. Or if just a beach for a day then go to Jacqui O's. VaCruzers Posted April 4, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 4, 2015 Not sure when you were planning to go, but here is a post on another thread from March 19, 2015: Coconut Beach Club closes for major renovations on May 31, 2015. I can suggest: - Beach Limerz (relatively undiscovered by cruise passengers) as a lovely place to spend the day in a very similar price range. - The Grand Royal Antiguan - Lunch and drinks pass is US$ 60.00 and Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and drinks pass is US$ 75.00 - Hawksbill by Rex Resorts- Lunch Drinks and Loungers are US$ 40.00 Note: the suggestions are not from me, they were in the email the poster received from Coconut Beach
Rare nimbex1970 Posted April 5, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 5, 2015 Wanted to follow up on these suggestions from the hotel. The Grand Antiguan has terrible, terrible reviews from trip advisor. Hawksbill is scheduled to close for renovations from May 5th to October 24th 2015. Beach Limerez is located next to fort James. The trip advisor review are quite excellent. This is a restaurant on the beach with three levels of lounging. Based up several google searches (I'm looking for allinclusive as well), this is my choice. Rare Fletcher Posted April 10, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 10, 2015 I'm pleased to see that Coconuts is closing for renovations. We took a day pass there last December and thought it looked wrecked, the result of managerial neglect as well as hurricane damage. It's a lovely spot (albeit overlooked by a military garrison) and I hope the renovations go well.
