Hello, Sail-Away Gang!

I received an interesting letter from HAL today and wondered if any others got it.

First of all it told me they had sent me a welcome home letter on May 18 (I didn't get an e-mail or snail mail letter from them:confused:) with my Cruise Day credits in it. The purpose of this second letter (dated May 29) was to apologize for the wrong information in that first letter. They went on to say that the "system error" had been fixed and then gave my correct Mariner info.

We discussed the wrong info on another thread but wondered if anyone else got either the first or second letter? I'm wondering if the first letter (that I did not get) was the one with the promo code for booking a future cruise.

I have received three emails from HAL since returning home on May 1. First was the survey which I answered within a day while everything was still fresh in my mind. Then came the Welcome Home email stating we would receive up to $200 per person if we book a cruise prior to July 17. Then we received an email from the Mariner's Society with the accurate accounting of our nights on board and days accrued by spending $300. I had forgotten that I had sent an email to them when things were wonky as we were being credited things that we did not deserve.

We did not receive anything that referenced the ZPM promotion, I just know about it.

DD and DS do not qualify for the days based on spending, only nights on board...one of them wasn't happy  but I just said they can start paying and I would inform the front office on the next cruise . As you can imagine that was not well received. :p

I received the email with the wrong information saying we were now five star Mariners. A week later I received the email correcting the information to say we actually only had 497 cruise days so we're still only four star.

After next week we will be five star for real.

Hey Sail a Way Gang, want to come for another Sail a Way Cruise.

Some of the Sail a Way gang are going on the Hawaii, Tahiti, Marquesas cruise on April 2nd, 2016 (Westerdam). Now, that may be too long for some, so if you want a shorter cruise....2 days after the end of the cruise...

some of the Sail a Way Gang plan on hopping on the N Amsterdam (May 7th) for the 7 day Alaska (R/T Vancouver).

Food for thought :D

I am considering staying on Westerdam and doing the 7-day Alaska out of Seattle. I am stalling because HAL is charging 200% for solos in an oceanview cabin (usually it is less than than 175%). I don't know if this is standard for Alaska.

Maybe I'll wear a shirt. LOL I do know what some of you look like from the pictures of your latest trip.

oh dear - the gig is up:D come on the roll call later and let us know where you will be and some of us might be able to find you :) You'll just be finishing your Panama, right?

no worries - stalling is absolutely permitted :) Lots of time. And we have the pleasure of your company on the Westerdam, so I can't be too greedy :)

I hope your cruise is as good as ours was. We really had a fabulous time!

The postman brought me another letter from HAL today. I finally received a "thank you" for sailing and an offer for OBC (using the ZPM promo code). The OBC for the Alaska cruise is not enough ($25) to push me into booking yet, however. I do wonder why they are not sending me this info by e-mail.

It is strange that you are getting snail mail. Wonder if it is because this was your first HAL cruise? Obviously they have your email on record from the express docs, no?

Or, did you perhaps say no email in your contact info? You have the option of no phone calls, no email or no snail mail.

We are looking into it...but issues arose at work for me yesterday and everything is up in the air. We can make no plans at this time until at least mid month after I see a specialist.
