BearySweet2Cruise Posted September 10, 2005 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2005 Royal ships serve coke products... was a week of sadness for DH who is a morning mountain dew drinker.. None to be had as they have only coke products. (got first Mountain dew in JAMAICA! Ha!) If you are a pepsi product fan.. bring your own.. they will allow it on the ship, (especially since they do not serve pepsi products) I saw people checking in with 12 packs that they were tagging with luggage tags and sending on board with checked luggage. Just wanted to share so you can be prepared rather than disappointed.

crzn4fun Posted September 11, 2005 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2005 That's great news for me! :D I only drink Coke and have a hard time when we go somewhere that only serves Pepsi products.
Newcastle Posted September 11, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2005 It makes me very happy that they use Coke.
BirmanCrazy Posted September 11, 2005 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2005 Dr Pepper fan here. I always have to pack my soft drinks. I buy the screw tops so not to waste! It saves money in the long run as well as satisfying my preference. :)
camreesmom Posted September 11, 2005 #6 Share Posted September 11, 2005 Does anyone know if they have C2? That's what dh drinks these days. We usually take our own sodas (with screw top lids) because we don't drink enough to make it worthwhile to buy soda cards.
SRQfireman Posted September 11, 2005 #7 Share Posted September 11, 2005 have not found a ship/cruiseline yet that serves Pepsi
wrp96 Posted September 11, 2005 #8 Share Posted September 11, 2005 Does anyone know if they have C2? That's what dh drinks these days. We usually take our own sodas (with screw top lids) because we don't drink enough to make it worthwhile to buy soda cards. I don't drink C2 so I'm not sure. But they have a limited selection available so I wouldn't count on them having C2. I drink Diet-Caffeine free (coke, sprite, pepsi I'm not particular although I prefer pepsi) and I was only able to find diet-caffeine free anything at one bar on my last cruise. If you have something in particular that you drink other than Coke, Diet Coke, or Sprite I would recommend bringing it yourself.
arrow3 Posted September 11, 2005 #9 Share Posted September 11, 2005 If not having pepsi makes you sad for the whole week of your cruise then I don't know what to say. Now I've heard everything.

TrentS Posted September 11, 2005 #11 Share Posted September 11, 2005 It's not just RCI, it's all cruise lines... If you absolutely have to have something other than Coke, Diet Coke, or Sprite then bring your own!
demodawn Posted September 11, 2005 #12 Share Posted September 11, 2005 I am a diet coke addict and i bring my own cant see to pay 1.60 when i can get 12 for 2.00 at home:)
kenandlaura06 Posted September 11, 2005 #13 Share Posted September 11, 2005 No problem for us...not soda drinkers! Now, if they don't have certain beers...:)
johnql Posted September 11, 2005 #14 Share Posted September 11, 2005 Based on the cruises I've been on, it appears that Coke has a monopoly on cruise ships. Since I prefer Diet Pepsi over Diet Coke, I always take a couple six-packs onboard. Has anybody ever seen Pepsi products on a ship?

BearySweet2Cruise Posted September 11, 2005 Author #16 Share Posted September 11, 2005 What do you do when you go to McDonalds? I never do Mcdonalds.. they are horrible. I do not drink any carbonated beverages at all, (coke or pepesi) carbonation will make me ill. (very very ill) so what they serve is not the issue.. Though DH likes the mountain dew which they did not have. Thread is information purposes that if you do not like coke you should know this before sialing in case you want to bring something else. :):)
lvssushi Posted September 11, 2005 #17 Share Posted September 11, 2005 I am a big Nestea and Snapple ice tea drinker, so I like to bring my own. Daughter is a HUGE Rootbeer fan...I'm assuming they don't carry any rootbeer on board?
Mike Fabian Posted September 11, 2005 #18 Share Posted September 11, 2005 Thank all that is holy, my wife told me if they served only pepsi, she would not go on the cruise. I packed her a 40 can soft sided cooler on the last cruise and checked it in at the dock. Mike

Dave4120 Posted September 11, 2005 #21 Share Posted September 11, 2005 Just my opinion, but it seems pretty sad when a thread is taken to complain about Coke being served instead of Pepsi. Makes you wonder if this is such a big deal, will you compalin about every other little thing that might be different than what you want or expect on the cruise ship. Hope Not. I'm just curious, but have you been reading the other threads here at Cruise Critic? They vary from praise of every little thing to complaining about every little thing, so Coke versus Pepsi isn't really out of line! Isn't it just another fun informational item to discuss about cruising?
