The Ruby Princess Arriving in Puerto Vallarta

The Ruby Princess was arriving into port during breakfast. It took the captain less than 20 minutes to position the ship for arrival. I was on the lido deck and took pictures every couple of minutes as the ship was maneuvering - my attempt at time lapse photography!

Playlist Show After Party

After the first showing of Getaway Island, Cory Rogers lead the audience to the Red Frog Pub where the Hot Tub Rhyme Machine would continue the theme of the night with more “island songs.” After the second showing the audience was lead to the lido deck party and Mexican Buffet. Getaway Island was a great segue to both after parties.

Arriving into Cabo San Lucas

We were the only ship this day. There can be as many as three cruise ships in one day. Tender boats are required and if you’re the only ship in town the boat ride is about 10 minutes. The boat ride is longer if there are more ships anchored. Seals can be found in the port following local fishing boats as some fisherman feed the seals.

Shore Excursion – Mountain Biking Adventure

I signed up for the mountain biking adventure. Out of 2,000+ passengers on board I was the only one from the ship. There were several other participants from land based hotels. The excursion would be considered moderate if you’re physically active and in decent shape. You could even walk parts of the excursion – riding in the sand was a bit challenging in some areas and the hill climbs were a workout. Afterwards lunch and tequila tasting were included. I would sign up for this excursion again but would hope for more time on the bikes.

As we depart Cabo San Lucas the captain informs us as soon as we leave the protected area we would encounter wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph, up to seven foot swells, and advised us to use caution when walking on the lido deck and for those opening their balconies on the port side. Despite this, we would feel very little to no pitch or roll as the stabilizers were deployed and the ship was full of ballast. Cheers to the captain for the smooth sailing!

Here is the ship’s position showing the apparent wind gusts of 52mph.

Disembarkation Information

The last night of the cruise the cabin stewards placed a copy of the disembarkation information in each cabin along with copies of the U.S. Customs forms and luggage tags. This information can also be found at guest services. A video is played throughout the day on the ship’s cruise channel and displays the disembarkation procedure.

Thanks so much for posting this awesome review! It's made me so excited for our upcoming Miracle cruise.

Quick question: what time did you arrive back in port, and how long did it take to debark?
