We also did the Coral for the Panama Canal.

Not happy that the glass at the front of the ship is tinted blue. Not easy to take pictures forward going through the canal ....which was great and I'd do again in a heartbeat.

Anyway, I did what a others did. The panels of glass had about a four inch space between them. I grabbed a cushion off a lounge chair and scooted under the front rail and sat on the cushion on the deck right behind one of those openings. I was able to get a clear view AND slide my little camera through the opening to get some good shots.

Thanks for our mini PC review.:D And thanks for the camera trick.:)

We had two 24" suitcases that we packed ... one for land and one for sea. Those were checked with the airline. I had the small rolling bag, plus my husband and I each had a tote. My tote was large enough to hold my purse in case I got a gate attendant who noted I really had three carry ons.

Yes, packing was tough. We expected cold weather and packed for wearing layers. Since we had warm sunny weather, we had way too much.

As for wearing something different each day/night ... forget it. Everyone was very casual. Considering how dry and warm it was, I probably could have gotten away with two tops ... wear one while the other was drying LOL

Typically we would shower before dinner and I'd put on a new top. Then I'd wear that same top the next day. Even on board ship the few items I washed dried quickly. After attaching to a hanger and allowing to drip in the shower, I hung from the TV shelf in the room.

I am warm most of the time. I could have gotten away with all short sleeve tops ... even the days at the glaciers as I could have simply put my long sleeved long john top on ... which I didn't need. Just my sweatshirt. As I said, we had warm beautiful weather.

This is fantastic information Diane and so much help. I am going to pare down my packing list to the bare minimum. Thanks again!

I have looked at my paperwork and we do have transfers from the airport in Fairbanks to the hotel included with our tour. Also, we called the hotel today to confirm.

The xfer may have been an add-on at additional cost. Princess and TAs often automatically add on xfers at the start and end of a cruise or cruise tour.

Does your invoice show the xfer as a separate cost?

I think the transfers are added automatically now. They were listed separately on my booking from the TA so I just emailed and had them deleted.

Diane, thanks for all the useful information. Our next door neighbors are taking their very first cruise next week on the Coral and enjoying the same itinerary that you did. I was giving them some Princess pointers and was telling them to stop by the International Cafe to enjoy & try the cronuts or afternoon sandwiches/salads and then I looked on the deck plans and didn't see an International Cafe. Does the Coral have an International Cafe?

Yes, they have a very nice one with lots of options and tables for seating. It is right next to the casino.

BTW, remind them that the only thing that costs extra are the beverages. I think some people believe there is also a charge for the other items displayed there.
