Sunset Bar on Equinox - from Ft. Lauderdale

Is there music during sailaway near the Sunset bar on Equinox?

 

We usually hang out on the upper level looking down onto dance floor and out to sea during departure from Fort Lauderdale. However last December, there were only two dancers on the dance floor, no Caribbean music and in general, a rather boring sailaway put on by Celebrity.

 

Hoping the Sunset Bar has a nicer atmosphere for sailaway.

 

So much fun enjoying a drink on deck when first departing on a cruise and waving to people ashore.

We love the Sunset Bar on all S class ships for sailaways. Can't remember if there is music but I think there is. always many folks up there and lots of conversation going on. We're always up there at all the sailaways.

Our Roll Call group had our own sail away party at the Sunset last Nov on the Equinox. There is no 'live' music there.

I'm not sure what you mean about looking down onto the dance floor. If you are at the Sunset Bar on the Equinox you will be looking down on the open air seating for the Oceanview Cafe.

I think that "looking down on the dancefloor" was looking down the central atrium areas with all of the lifts to deck 3. They were asking if Sunset bar, which they weren't at, had music at Sailaway

If they were looking down on the Atrium dance floor and could also look out to sea they must have fantastic distance vision!

Actually we watched people dance below us and alternating by walking to the deck rail to see the ship pull away.

Have not been on Equinox recently but in general the Sailaway party and music (loud dj, usually) is held poolside...weather permitting. There is an outside upper deck where you can look out to the sea for sailaway and down on the festivities!

 

many Cruisecritic roll call groups meet up at the Sunset (aft) outdoor bar area,,,sometimes they might have a guitar player or steel drum...but more likely recorded music at that time

 

we have 2 cruises booked on EQ .it will nice to be back on board!

Our roll call met at the Sunset Bar recently on the Equinox TA, and yes, there was a guitarist playing during our sailaway from FLL.

He was quite good. :)
