Transportation from ship to Seattle airport

Just received flight change from US Air. Original return flight departed at 1:05 pm. That flight has been canceled and our return flight has been changed to 11:45 am. This means we are going to have to hustle to make that flight. If we carry our lipuggage off (I assume HAL lets you do that), are their taxis waiting that early.

Don't feel too bad. We are in a worse situation. Our original flight got canceled and they put us on a 10:50 AM flight. No other options that day. Talk about hustling to Sea-Tac

If you look down the board, there are dozens of threads like these. Yes, there will be cabs. Yes, HAL lets you carry off your own luggage. 11:45 flight is fine, 10:50 is doable, but it is going to be stressful.

Same thing happened to us last year and also this year with USAirways...uggg.

We now have an 11:25am flight from pier 66 to SeaTac. We will be walking our luggage off asap. We booked SeattleExpress shuttle to take us from the pier to the airport. $12 per person...pay the day of service.

We used them last year and arrived at the airport in plenty of time for our flight.

I believe we met the shuttle at about 7:30am.

Look at flatrateforhire.com Used them exclusively in Seattle. You can avoid a long taxi line by calling them and they will be there in 5-6 minutes. Very reliable and less $ than a regular taxi.

Even with an 11:45 departure, you have plenty of time.

 

It typically takes 1/2hr to get from the pier to SeaTac, but give yourself an hour due to city events, tunnel/road construction and the usual congestion around Seattle. You need to be at the airport 2 hrs prior to departure; SeaTac is very busy especially on weekends during the summer when thousands of cruise passengers descend on the airport for a noon flight.

 

So backing into that equation, you should be off the ship by 8:45am.

 

Seattle Express is only $12pp and has frequent departures to the airport. Very well reviewed on this forum. Cheapest option for 2 people.

 

p.s. You can use any TSA checkpoint at SeaTac, not just the one closest to your gate, so if one line is busy, check the others. There are usually 4 open on cruise days.

I think you have plenty of time. Last week we were on the Jewel and got off the ship around 7:40 AM and by 8:30 AM we were at the airport and bags checked in (using Seattle Express)
