Kiwi_cruiser Posted July 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2015 We are doing a cruise on the Carnival Glory on the 24/10/2015 And I was wondering as it’s our first time on the Carnival Glory what can you tell me about her? As we are only on her for a week is there anything not to miss? Is there anything you must do on the ship? :D Also what sort of power plug does the cabin have? PS: For Power boards (what we call them here down-under) or what you call them in the USA power strips. Do Carnival USA inspect them then if they are OK, give them back to you?? BadJelly Posted July 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2015 Patience, it's Saturday night over there :-) I haven't cruised on the Glory but the power points will all be standard US. I always carry a couple of adapters when travelling anyway. Found the bargain of the century last time, at a camera store, US$2 each, looked flimsy, but worked fine. Pick up a power board from a store & take it on board in the packaging. I've never had an issue doing it that way. You are still going to need the adapters for plugging into the power board anyway. love my grandkids Posted July 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 12, 2015 For many things you can use outlet in bathroom marked for shaving so we have two. We charge things during the night so we dont need power strip.
USNUZULOOSE Posted July 12, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 12, 2015 We sailed her in 09. I think she had the upgrade to the 2.0 since. I hope I am correct. I did not do a review on her here. But we enjoyed sailing on her then. I would sail her again in a heartbeat. The crew was wonderful. We had an ocean view cabin. I can't recall where the outlets were. But you will have a great time on her. It was a relaxing trip for us. I do remember me and DH were in the art auction and someone in the casino won a 98K jackpot. That was exciting to see. gadan1 Posted July 12, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 12, 2015 I've been on the Glory a few times (including a B2B in April-May of this year). The rooms have 2 power outlets in the desk area. One is US 110v, one is European 220v. You can bring a power strip but they may take it. I usually carry a small 3 outlet tap versus a power strip and put it in my carryon bag and no one has ever said anything about it. As for what not to miss, if you drink, try to visit the Alchemy bar. Great bartenders and great (strong) martinis. You can order off the menu or just tell them what you feel like drinking (sweet, fruity, sour, etc) and they'll whip something up for you. It's less crowded earlier in the week.
crusinpsychRN Posted July 12, 2015 #9 Share Posted July 12, 2015 I stayed lost for 5 of 7 days. Couldn't figure out the area where you go in MDR because it cuts off access. Finally figured, even if closed, you could walk through MDR to get where you meant to be. I also couldn't find fish n chips. Staff couldn't tell me either. There's a staircase in Lido and fish n chips is one flight up.
#1TravelMom Posted July 13, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 13, 2015 Just off the Glory. We definitely did not feel that there were enough things to do. I love trivia - not much on this ship. DD loves mini golf - closes at 5pm along with the volleyball/basketball courts - WHY???

cruisexlife Posted August 11, 2015 #13 Share Posted August 11, 2015 I have cruised on Glory 3 times, and I loved each cruise. She is such a great ship, with lots of amenities for the sea days, as well as beautiful décor. There is one US power outlet in the room, as well as a secret one in the bathroom. I have not had a problem bringing in a power outlet on previous trips, you should be fine. I wrote a photo review for my last cruise on here, the link is in my signature at the bottom of this post. Read it, and you can ask any more questions you may have on there. You are in for such a great cruise! :D
LMW1330 Posted August 12, 2015 #14 Share Posted August 12, 2015 I loved the Glory! Beautiful Ship. The thing that remains with me was the cruise director. I don't even remember his name, but he was hysterical.

Kiwi_cruiser Posted August 18, 2015 Author #16 Share Posted August 18, 2015 How are you able to show your previous sailings on your post? Hi jillsalamanca :) You should have started a new thread and not a reply to this thread, as you might not not a reply :) But here is how to show your previous sailings on your post, On the left hand side of this website you will see a link called "User CP" (or click on that link), then once you are in your User CP on the left hand side of it look "Settings & Options" then under that click on "Edit Signature - No Advertising Allowed" and from there you can create the same sig as everyone else :) Hope this helps :)
