Review of suite 14730 Oasis of the Seas.

I stated I would post my opinion of this suite after our cruise.

Ok, here goes.

We booked early and selected this suite once they became available and picked the 14th deck for what we thought would be some nice privacy, with no one looking over on us.

The balconies are two fold, one door from the living area, this balcony is very small and has no furniture, this is where you could get a partial view of the aqua theatre shows.

We could peek onto the balcony of 12730, and we met them and were friends and would carry on a conversation with them.

The other balcony door was in the bedroom --this balcony was smaller than the depth of a balcony of a GS on Freedom, but still had two wicker chairs (no cushions) two foot ottomans and a small round table, this was a complete ocean view. This Bedroom also had a big grand window to have a complete view of the ocean.

You could hear muffled sounds from the shows, but it did not keep me up when napping.

The bathroom, I thought was small, had one sink and I had one major problem with it:

Now mind you I am not an invalid, but the tub, was not very friendly.

Oh it was big, but elevated, and when you tried to get out you had to be very careful stepping down, way down. It was one heck of a drop. And I actually had to sit on the rim of the tub swing my feet over and carefully put my feet down to the floor.

If you have mobility issues this is not the suite for you.

The tub also had two controls, one for "force of water" the other for water temp. Had no problem with it.

The room temp was cold, if you kept the control dial on cold. There was one dial in each room.

HOWEVER: It seemed that the room got hot from 2am-4am., and then

WHAM!!!!! it got very cold.....so RCI must have some way of controlling the temp.

When the sleeper sofa was opened you could not open the "refrigerator" or cooler chest whatever you want to call it.

The desk was nice, Makeup area was large enough.

Tons of outlets everywhere (did not take power strip) and the bed was comfy.

Tons of closet storage space, and 3 large and two carryons fit under the bed.

Oh the safe in the closet was the biggest we have ever seen.

We have never been in a regular GS on either Oasis or Allure, so we have no other comparison for you.

We have only sailed in Crown Lofts before.

We have decided we will not book this suite again, we would try another GS, but not these ( I guess they are re-named and cost more $$$$$).

In our eyes the GS on Freedom and Mariner were nicer. In my opinion because of the layout.

We are going back to the Crown lofts for now.

Any questions?

I will gladly answer.

Sue do you have a photo or two you might be able to post to especially illustrate the size of the balcony.

I have a friend who booked his cabin for Harmony but of course right now have no way of knowing if the cabin /balcony is the same size or not.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Still looking forward to 11330 and the larger balcony.

Hi, Emmy! We have 11330 on Saturday and I will try to take pics and post Saturday before sailaway. Otherwise, I will post them at the next port.

We also have 11730 booked on Harmony in 2017. The dimensions of these "A4" cabins are different on Harmony than on Oasis or Allure. If memory serves me correctly deck 14 has the biggest deck but the smallest cabin. Deck 12 has the largest cabin and the smallest deck. Deck 11 is between the 2 in deck size and cabin size. I will look up the dimensions and post them.

Will be a good comparison for you and I look forward to hearing about it.

Will watch you sail away on the webcam on Saturday from 11330 and what used to be my fav 'public balcony' sail away spot for a few Oasis sailings.

Oasis size of these balconies ~ quite a difference from Harmony dimensions you posted Thank you:)

Staterooms 11330 & 11730 (398 sq. ft. Balcony 452 sq. ft.)

Staterooms 12330 & 12730 (323sq. ft. Balcony 355 sq. ft)

Staterooms 14330 & 14730 (323sq. ft. Balcony 140 sq. ft)

Thanks for the update. How was the walk back there. We have the deck 11 one booked

Actually it was very ---- healthy:eek:

Quiet, private recessed door. Minimal hallway noise.

The hike kinda grew on you:D.

Just an FYI. We only do elevators on formal night (High Heels) or when lugging luggage. Do the stairs alot.

Good exercise.

I have subscribed to this post as a friend and I have decided to sail on Oasis and want an AquaSuite. Trying to decide which one is best. Hope you guys can post pics so I can get a better idea. Thanks!

Staterooms 11330 and 11730 (606 sq. ft., balcony 626 sq. ft.)

Staterooms 14330 and 14730 (604 sq. ft., balcony 631 sq. ft.)

Staterooms 12330 and 12730 (652 sq. ft., balcony 589 sq. ft.)

That's interesting, because in Oasis and Allure the cabins/balconies get progressively smaller as you go up. Wonder what changed in the Harmony ? We also have 11730 booked in December 2016. We will be boarding GS 11330 August 22 as you are getting off. Hoping you have a great cruise and really enjoy "our" cabin. :) Gerry

We will take good care of it. Will leave you a "Roll Tide" poster so you Buckeyes will remember us in the upcoming season!

It will be interesting to see if the Harmony cabins really do end up so much larger than the Oasis and Allure. We had one booked on the Harmony TA in October 2016 but could not tolerate the high high high price! So we switched to a JS instead. The price is much more reasonable for the Feb. 2017 cruise.

We have requested a "zoom in" on sail away on Saturday and have a big banner that says "Bon Voyage" and some nautical flags. Look for us on the webcam!

Thanks LOL. Thinking Ohio State and that School Up North rivalry is bad. I have two cousins, one went to LSU and the other Alabama. Wow !!! Very intense. LOL :) Gerry

Based on your comments and those of others who have also indicated that this "Grand Suite" is not up to RCI's normal Grand Suite standards, we have managed to change.

Until today we were booked in 14730 but when the opportunity to change came up we had our TA grab it for us. So we are now in a Grand Suite on deck 7 and looking forward to being underway yet again.

You can see by looking at the deck plans for Harmony that they have redesigned that area. It appears from pictures I have seen that the balcony on 14 now extends out over deck 12.

Hope the flower arrangement lasts a few more days! We enjoyed it for several days ourselves. We are now home. The 3 hour drive from Ft. Lauderdale to Bradenton was a breeze.

Tell Gilbert hello for us. He is a very good stateroom attendant. We LOVED the cabin. It is arranged so differently it took us a while to know our space but we found it to have lots of storage and of course the balcony is the BEST.

We will be on the Oasis for playoffs the week of Jan. 2 for Wayne's 75th birthday bash and we will make Pinnacle that week. Come join us! Friendly rivalry only....

Annette and Wayne ~ Nice cover on the PE webcam FB page. You gave me a great idea for when we have that cabin 11330 in April to hang my banner on the wall behind. I always struggled hanging it on the balcony railing. Great wave.

That sounds great. However being in the energy business most of my time off is May through September. We need to have a friendly drink over a friendly rivalry someplace, sometime. :) Gerry

Emmy, we used magnets and it worked great! We absolutely loved the cabin and the balcony. After such a fiasco on the TA from Rotterdam it was wonderful to enjoy all the perks that were not done on that cruise. We ate at Coastal Kitchen 4 times and enjoyed it each time. The new escorted service from the Suites lounge to disembark was an absolute dream. We were in our car on the way home in 30 minutes from leaving the suite lounge!

If you have any questions about the cabin let me know. I know you have seen it but living in it is a different experience. The storage was great and the bathroom was about the same size as in a JS. Not bad at all if you are less than 6' tall!

Thanks for the screen shot of sailaway. We really appreciate it!
