Water tempreatures in December

We will be in GC in mid-December this year. I understand that air temperature will probably be in the low 80's, but can anyone tell me about water temperatures? We are trying to decide if we want to snorkel, but it's no fun if you're cold. What about for seeing the sting rays on the sandbar? Thanks.

We did the Stingray City Sandbar in December last year. It was beautiful weather and the water was warm - very pleasant. We loved that excursion and are doing it again this December.

water temp and being cold is very subjective

 

I notice the previous post is from a person from Canada . . .

 

when I think my pool is frigid at 75f .... they might WONDER at the warm water

 

Cayman waters seldom drop below 80f ..... but here's dd after a dive in March

We never have a problem with the Grand Cayman water temperatures in the Jan/Feb time frame. :)

It's always warm....warmer than the Atlantic in NC, that's for sure!

You should find the water temperature to be relatively warm.

The water is coldest in late February to early March. The water is at its warmest around October.

 

In December I would expect water temperatures of about 82°F.

We were there this past December/January and the water was warm. Sorry I don't know the temperature, but I hate cool water and I thought it was great.
