I stayed in room 7336 great location. But the noise from the cleaning crew at 6:30 am every morning was to much. The room to the cleaning supplies were just a cross the hall. From 7340 down was better. The smoke coming up the stairs from the casino got bad at times from the 6th floor down. The was not as good as it has been in the past. The ship was the worst but the cruise was great.

I am the pickiest person of all time. I pretty much turn my nose up at everything. I go on 4-5 cruises a year (big ships, small ships, all ships) and just did the Valor for the first time.

BY FAR - the best cruise ever. Staff treated us better than on any of the Conquest, Dream, or Oasis Class ships. Best food in MDR and Steakhouse, as well. Casino staff was also wonderful. I tipped almost a grand out to dealers alone.

Your poor choice of cabin should not have to hinder the perception of a ship.

This makes me sad. One of my favorite Carnival cruises was on Valor in 2009. We loved the ship, the staff and everything about that cruise. We have since been spoiled by 2.0 upgrades and other cruise lines, but I still have a place in my heart for Valor. It sounds like you had a less than ideal room location.

Looking forward to the upgrades and changes before we sail on the Valor in 2016. It will be 5 years since I've sailed on a Carnival ship when we sail on the Valor next year. I hope that the experience is not as negative as this thread's title implies.

The 7th time I cruised the Valor was also my worst Carnival cruise. Had problems in the late MDR with slow service, we saw the staff "entertainment" before our main entrees, which were average, were ever served. I had a non working TV that had to be replaced when I first got to my cabin and a stopped up shower drain that needed to be roto rooted. The CD was annoying with his incessant and untolerably long announcements. My worst 7 days of the 153 I've sailed with Carnival so far.

I've stayed in cabin #7345 and never had the noise issues the OP mentioned.

I've been on the Valor twice. April 2013 was our best cruise ever! However, it's my least favorite ship - decor isn't tropical/Caribbean feeling (Americana) and overall it needs several updates.

That being said, I haven't met a cruise I haven't liked yet! Staff was good and food was good - that and turndown twice a day is all I need. Sorry the OP had a problem with noise. However, don't let that deter you from the Valor. If I had, I wouldn't have gone on a second cruise as our after room on our first cruise, the Dream, was sooo noisy going in and out of dock.

The room was not over the casino. Like I said from 7340 down was good. I have been on 34 cruises this was the worst ship I have been on. The cruise was great. The staff was great .the ship was not. I hope the Drydock will help. The worst day at sea is better then a good day at work.

My wife and I were on the Aug 29/Sep 5 sailing on the Valor and had a great time. While it is not the newest ship in the fleet, it is in great shape.

The Valor is one of the few ships Carnival has that still carries a live band in the main showroom. The shows were so good they reminded us of the old days.

While food is very subjective, we found the meals in the MDR very good. The menu is varied, and if you order something you do not like the waiter will be happy to bring you a different meal.

The food in the Lido buffet was typical cafeteria (some good, some not so) It was also very crowded, at times difficult to find a table.

When we booked this trip we did so because schools here in FL were back in session. We forget that schools up north were still on vacation. A big oops on our part. There were many, many mostly unsupervised kids running around at all hours. This could be one of the reasons the Lido was so crowded.

When you consider the value you get with Carnival I feel we got more than our money's worth, and would not hesitate to sail on the Valor again. But next time I will be a little more careful about checking school schedules.

Other than the 6:30am cleaning issues & smoke smell issues, what makes the Valor (the worst ship you've been on?)

What are you hoping will be addressed during the next drydock?

:)

Now that is a good reply. Food needs to be better. The cleaning crew out side my room don't need to laughing so loud at 6 am. The vent that brings fresh air into the casino needs to suck the air from the rest of the ship not blow it . The rest I know will be taken care of at Drydock

The rock band needs a better place to play THE WORST SHIP I HAVE BEEN ON. NOT YOU ME
