Cruise Rewards / Cruise Next

Does anyone know if the new Cruise Next certificates can be applied to a cruise you have already booked (if you haven't paid in full)?

I am planning to book a studio on the Escape in early 2016 - and due to the upcoming October special on these rooms- I am nervous if I wait until I get on my cruise in 2 weeks to book it with the Ultimate, the prices will go up or the rooms could be gone. I see no added benefit of doing the Ultimate on a studio anyway - as the October special will add the perk I want.

I was thinking I could book it tomorrow and then buy a Cruise Next reward on board and apply this to the balance owed when I get home. I think the stipulations of the old Cruise Rewards said it was for new bookings, but I did spend by current reward the same way (applied to the balance at final payment date). Has anyone else done this or know if this allowed or it was a fluke?

Thanks all! :)

I've done it before, and many other people have reported the same thing. Which does not guarantee that when you try to do it, you won't get a stickler for the rules on other end of the line, or maybe NCL will tighten up their rules on this across the board in the meantime.

I would go ahead and book the cruise now (I mean, tomorrow :) ), and buy a CN deposit on your upcoming cruise and ask them to apply it to your existing booking when you get home. Worst that could happen, they refuse to do it, and it's not worth it to you to rebook the cruise (because the price has gone up or studios all sold out). In that case you can just call to get the CN deposit refunded (or use it for another cruise, or give/sell it to someone else who can use it).

Thanks! That's a great idea!
