ILoveScotland Posted November 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2015 Will be on the Dawn in January with husband who's never cruised. I'm gathering as much information as possible now to help him know what to expect. That leads me to ask what the entertainment is these days. Thanks for responses. BabsinTX Posted November 23, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2015 We were on the Dawn for three weeks in October/November. The best thing by far was "Elements" which combined pieces from most of the entertainers on board (magician, acrobats, Dawn singers and dancers, etc.) Really amazing show. A popular singing duo was Jose and Patti, who sang often in the Grand Atrium and once in the theater. They did different themed-shows, such as Neil Diamond, Best Songs from the past 70 years (I think), and such. Really wonderful singers. I hope you enjoy the Dawn as much as we did. jmoak Posted November 24, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 24, 2015 Is there a piano bar on the dawn? Where the piano player takes request and sings?
Rare kjquilts Posted November 24, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 24, 2015 Is there a piano bar on the dawn? Where the piano player takes request and sings? Gatsby's Champagne Bar on deck 6 has a piano. On the 14 night repositioning cruise there were a couple different singers who sang there at different times. We also loved Jose and Patti who sang several evenings in the atrium and had a couple shows in the Stardust theatre. Atrium gets crowded but you can go upstairs. We had a great cruise on the Dawn. Hope you enjoy her too.
Oakman58 Posted November 24, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 24, 2015 We were on the Dawn this past February out of New Orleans and had a great cruise. The Second City troupe was one of the shows in the theater. They also did a late adult show in the Spinnaker Lounge the next evening.
bob brown Posted November 24, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 24, 2015 Jose and Patti are great, but according to their website http://www.joseandpatti.net/schedules/ they will be ashore from 6Dec until 3Apr....sorry....
Brad on a boat Posted November 24, 2015 #8 Share Posted November 24, 2015 If you're into comedy, each and every one of the "Second City" shows is wonderful. And the Cruise Director Dingo Dave (who I believe is still on board) is, in our opinion, the best in the biz.
teacher2cruiser Posted December 19, 2015 #9 Share Posted December 19, 2015 Is there a piano bar on the dawn? Where the piano player takes request and sings? Ariel played in Gatsby's. He was awesome, and he did take requests. Don't miss him!

I cruised the Dawn first week of December and Andre was the cruise director. He was great.

minisuitegian Posted December 21, 2015 #12 Share Posted December 21, 2015 Just off the Dawn December 13-20, 2015 All of the shows were great, but Elements was fantastic. The cruise director Dingo Dave was excellent. It is quite refreshing to see someone truly enjoy their job.
