Booking On Board

Not sure there are any real benefits. We did it last year (leaving tomorrow!!) and were able to book a cabin that we wanted. But we could have done that online if we booked early enough. I had to keep checking fares to see if they went down, and rebook myself later. They did go down btw, as it was a year in advance.

Are there any advantages to booking a cruise while on a cruise with Princess? Thanks

If you book on board you receive the OBC plus a reduced deposit of $100 (some world cruises have larger deposits). You can also assign the booking to a T.A. of your choice, or you can transfer the booking to a T.A. once you are home.

Another option is to just purchase Future Cruise Deposits. This is what we do. They are $100, which is the same as the deposits for on board bookings, are good for two years, are fully refundable if not used, and provide the exact same OBC's as received when booking on board. Future Cruise Deposits provide you with time to think once you return home when you are not caught up in the excitement of the current cruise, and also give you time to search/wait for promos that may not be available during the time you are on your cruise.

We never book onboard. We just make sure we have FCC's (future cruise credits) in our account so we can book at home for the $100 deposit and onboard credit depending on length of the cruise and cabin cat booked. These FCC's can be purchased while you are on the cruise.
