pbnjrockette Posted March 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2016 Our last few cruises have been in the Caribbean and there hasn't been much of a concern as to "daywear" inside the ship--anything short sleeved would do as the air was always comfortable. Walking out to the deck or by doorways that open to the deck brought in warm air. We are sailing the Norwegian Fjords in May and wondered if we would need more "long sleeve" type shirts for inside the ship. Perhaps a sweater or sweatshirt as well? (Planning on layers and rain gear for excursions). thanks!
Rare Keith1010 Posted March 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2016 Our experience is that sometimes the outside temperature can impact the temperature inside. I would take something that you can later on yourself just in case you feel cool. Your ideas are good ones. Keith

LazyDays64 Posted March 14, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 14, 2016 Take a scarf with you. It can be a light weight one. Just having it around your neck gives you a little added warmth for those drafty areas or the cool breezes outside. :)
SadieN Posted March 15, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 15, 2016 (edited) Probably dress like for Alaska outside. Inside wear an under layer and a thin jacket or hoodie and scarf if need be. dulcimergirl Posted March 31, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 31, 2016 I noticed on my last cruise, the cooler outside, the cooler it is inside. We nearly froze inside in Feb, leaving Charleston. I won't cruise again without a light sweater or hoodie to wear inside the ship.
Floridiana Posted March 31, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 31, 2016 I never cruise without a pashmina type scarf anywhere. On US ships, the temperature inside trends toward meat locker in some areas, even in warm climate zones.
SadieN Posted March 31, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 31, 2016 (edited) Another thought. Rooms are colder the emptier they are. Us humans throw off lots of heat. When arriving early the showroom is always freezing. Halfway thru the show temps a bit too high, especially in the upper sections. I have had the opposite experience.....arrived to a HOT stateroom and looking at the thermostat and it says it is on COLD:eek::rolleyes: Talk about UNcomfortable. I guess we are all different but I would rather my cabin be too cold and at least can warm it up. But I do bring a warm up type jacket and a cardigan on every cruise. cruiseonthebrain Posted April 1, 2016 #10 Share Posted April 1, 2016 I would absolutely pack a sweater or wrap. Even on our last Caribbean cruise it was chilly and I needed a cover up at night on the ship- and I am normally hot.

The staterooms can be stuffy. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
OCruisers Posted April 2, 2016 #12 Share Posted April 2, 2016 (edited) Even on Caribbean cruises I take warmer things to wear because of the a/c in many public areas on the ship. Edited April 2, 2016 by OCruisers
