Does anyone know how to find out who our Cruise Director and our Artist in Residence will be on Riviera when we sail from Miami on April 11th?

Sorry for the dumb question, but as a newbie to Oceania, what is an artist in residence, and is there one on every cruise?

Only the 2 O class ships have the artist in residence for the Artist's Loft. I have seen folks doing watercolors, scrapbooking sort of things and photography. Usually there is a showing of guests work near the end of the cruise.

More info, please!

We're going on the Riviera in June to the Meditteranean. It's a port intensive cruise. Will we have an artist in residence? What do they do? How does that work? Is there a charge to paint? I didn't see anything about this on the website!

The Artist Loft has classes of different projects

sometimes it will be on photography, painting etc..

you will not know until you board what type of classes or instruction will be on your sailing

The classes are free & you need to go early to secure a spot (not a good system)

Check the papers in your cabin on embarkation day or go to the Loft & see what is available & hours they are available

At some point in 2015, O stopped showing, in their blue cruise summary folder (the one sent out about three weeks before sailing), who the Captain and CD are going to be. Doesn't matter anyway since the info wasn't always correct (due in part to printing parts of the materials months before the cruise itself).

Thanks kitty9. What is Graham's area of artistic expertise?

He is a painter who only uses a palate knife to apply the pigment. His works are beautiful, and expensive. He was an artist at Disney for many years. His works are for sale, starting at around $2800 for the smallest.
