If you gamble was the casino smokey? On Liberty a year and half ago if was honestly hard to breathe when we walked through. Hoped they have a better ventilation system on Allure.

It was smokey when we were on Allure. We even smelled the smoke in the Fitness Center.

I was just able to watch "good morning on Allure of the Seas". The questions you get are interesting, not the typical CC bunch. Maybe if I catch it live, the website will allow me to post.

I have so been enjoying this thread. I'm going to be sad when your cruises end.

For you and me both. I just haven't figure how I will force you all on the virtual flight home.

I am making a mental note to stay up and hit Jazz on 4 in 2 weeks. I saw the periscope and she was spectacular!

I have never gone before but I would do my best to never miss it again. It is not the type of thing that would normally call to me, but I have to say it was spectacular.

Andrew,

Was their a Glow Party (White Party) on either of your sailings?

Thanks.

I haven't seen it posted yet but we haven't been studying the Compass. We have thought about going to the 11 PM live lotto drawing at the casino though, but we just haven't made it yet. With a $850,000 Jackpot it must be riveting.[emoji854][emoji23]

You both have me literally laughing out loud! Thank you!

And Andrew, thank you for taking us all along on your cruise! You have done an amazing job!

That is all part of my master plan.

I look forward to seeing the compasses as well! (Just so you know there really is interest to go through the effort of posting them!)

A quick question I don't think I have seen you answer, why have you not gone to the MDR? You seem to eat every place but there. :D

Thanks!

Brad

That too is all part of our master plan. From all of our Oasis class sailings we've actually ate in the main dining room once, and it was with the senior officer that we knew.

The one benefit of sailing in a full suite that we take full advantage of is eating main dining room food in our cabin. We're actually considering ordering it tonight so you should have a good chance of seeing MDR food porn this evening.

We stopped bringing formal clothing many years ago as due to luggage weight restrictions and then it turned into laziness. We don't have anything against the main dining room, we just find other locations to be easier for us.

I was an alter boy when I was a kid. Does my blessing count?

It must have worked as we made it back alive.

I think a bushwhacker would come in handy right now.

So I have a quick update medical evacuation from the other day f the younger cruise guest. The person that was medevaced off the ship and actually suffered a broken femur the day previous to Labadee. They had actually slipped on the pool deck and that's when the break occurred. They were being airlifted to Dominican Republic and then from there they were getting on a flight back to the USA for treatment.

Hopefully they had medical insurance and air ambulance coverage too. An example of how something so simple can turn into a very expensive adventure.

Edit: so far he first cruise we had to return to Fort Lauderdale for medical reasons with a drop off. We had another guest getting off in Nassau for medical. There was also an alpha call to the suite sundeck area.

The second cruise so far with the medevac for the broken femur. There is also the Alpha call at 5 AM in the morning. I am knocking on wood as it is been quiet since.

So, now it is back to finishing off the review for a Day 4 in Falmouth.

I would have to say it is actually insanely hot out by the pool and on the decks today. So we're hanging out on our balcony in the shade and I am finishing off this portion of the review. I could almost use a nap, but we don't have any official plans for tonight so all is good.

If the flow rider line gets any shorter I might disappear but that's not looking promising at this minute. I always calculate two minutes per rider and right now we're looking at a 40 minute approximate wait.

My loss will be to your benefit, of lost time at work.

We were thinking of not bringing formal clothing this time, but since we want to try CK I think we will need to bring something a little nicer then shorts and t-shirts! We fly in from CA so we don't like to bring too much stuff.

We will definitely be trying the MDR food in the room! I think that is one of the things I am most excited about while having the suite! Lol! I guess it's the simple things in life that make me happy!

Yes, if you could please post the compasses that would be great.

Thanks so much!🙂

So what can I saw about the Historic Port of Falmouth Jamaica. It maybe rich in past history but it is rich today in cruise tourism. It was known in the past as a major port in relation to slave trading. In present times "a new $180 million port was built to accommodate the newest and largest cruise ships, including Royal Caribbean International's Oasis class. The port opened in early 2011". Thanks wiki for the info.

Now the major trade in Falmouth is the tourist dollar for items such as Diamonds, Tanzanite, Gold and anything else that can be pimped to tourists for marginal to major profit. Another words it's like any other cruise port.

Our first visit to Labadee was in October 2012 and the port was partially constructed at that time and has since been completed. It now houses local business such as Diamonds International, Tanzanite International, Margaritaville and other stores selling wear most likely made in China. That all being said there still are some "gems" hidden in the port area.

As you are aware if you follow the periscopes we were not in port for long seeing as we had a flow riding rental at 12:30. So let me give you our take on Falmouth.

I'll chime in here, as we've visited Labadee several times and we never get a cabana. They've taken the best beach and turned it into cabanas/suites only. Bummer.

I suggest going over to the Columbus Cove beach- it is a bit of a walk, maybe 7 minutes if you're moving quickly. There is also a tram there that you can hop on. That is the side of Labadee that faces the dock. The other side (where the zip line is overhead) is very rocky and not great to wade/walk out in.

My best advice: check to see if there are two ships in port the day you dock at Labadee (cruise cal dot com is a good place to check this). Hope that there is only your ship that day- otherwise the crowding is too much.

The day you arrive, get off as quickly as you can and head to the beach and secure chairs. There are locals/workers there to help you find or set up chairs in your preferred location- tip them a couple bucks.

Getting off the ship early ensures you can be in the shade/near the water/whatever your preference is. If you wait, there will be rows upon rows of chairs between you and the water.

Last bit of advice: do NOT bring cash or valuables ashore to Labadee. (Okay, maybe $20 if you plan to shop in the vendor areas). If you must have a cell phone with you, get a dry bag and keep it on you at all times, even when you head into the water.

Thanks for the info. I am very excited for my 1st visit there but have been wondering what it was going to be like. I didn't know if it would be like coco cay(which I love) or not. I have seen lots of people talk about Labadee but no one ever really says which place is the best or how big the area really is.

They suggest nice slacks and a collared shirt. Almost like resort casual.

So, a first for us, we used the suite express departure since we were only going to be in port for about an hour. We were to meet at Jazz on Four at a set time, giving us the chance to disembark before the rest of the guests. When we were waiting out front I happened to notice that the floor tile were laid to look like guitar frets. Pretty cool.

My first stop was to pick up my Rastafari hat to wear in port. Now with my Rasta name I was fully accepted by the locals.

A quick picture of the historic port stores. I did a periscope of the local port straw market and then proceeded to have technical difficulties hooking up to periscope. I was hoping to give you so much more.

We did do a little bit of shopping in Port. We bought from this gentleman, but not this large fish. We bought a smaller fish as well as a starfish. I figured I didn't really want to pick up a real starfish and try to bring it home, after the cruise critic thread about it I knew much better than that. Seeing the carvers doing the actual carving makes me feel more comfortable buying from them.

We were in port with another RC ship today. We didn't see the tube sleep being used on Liberty but we did see the other slides being used.

So we did make a stop at one very historic location in the Port of Falmouth. Thanks to Cup Crazy this is become a traditional stop for us. It's patty time. You know when locals and ship crew eat here you have found a true gem, of greater value than anything you'd find in Diamonds International.

Men just give your wife a patty, not a ring. Really, try it and see how far you get with it.

This one makes me smile too. I took a photo of it the day earlier at Labadee but security made me delete my off my camera. I was a bit to close to their buzz in station, and they had security concerns. I snuck this one in Falmouth much further away from the bing-in station

A view from higher up of Liberty. I sure hope Harmony's slides are integrated better.

I also spotted this on the pool deck. At least we won't have that much laundry when we return home. I might have to continue posting photos of things like our laundry, me returning work etc... Just to keep you guys out of post cruise withdrawal.
