Safes in staterooms...Serenade

Can someone who has recently been on Serenade comment on the type of safe in the staterooms?

I've been on ships that allow you to designate your own 4-digit code to lock/unlock, and others that you use any magnetic-stripe credit card you have to 'code' it to lock/unlock.

If it uses a magnetic stripe card, I like to use an old hotel key or other expired card as my 'key'.

Thanks!

All staterooms have keypad type safes.

So, if there is a type in code, where does that come from?

You pick the 4 digit code-- for example-- say your birthday or anniverasary is October 21 you could use 1021-- so when you close you enter 1021 and it locks with that number--the next person who wants to open enters 1021 and so on.

We use our anniversary date but you can use your phone number (last 4 digits) or any 4 digits you like

I think we used the credit card type back in 1999 on the old MS Ryndam.

We had a card swipe type on Enchantment last year. A few staterooms on some ships still have card swipe safes.

Our safe on Serenade worked fine with the four digit code and was roomy

enough for our "stuff". But I always test all safes first. Put in your code,

lock the door, then reopen again. Make sure it works before you put your

things in it! ;)
