What Can NCL Do Better?

I think it would be great to have timers for staff to place on chairs they find unoccupied. If the timer goes off before the person returns, their stuff is moved. It would be an easier, completely objective way of monitoring.

[emoji106] I'm sorry that solution is just too sensible. In other words: Great idea!

As a suite traveler, we alternate between NCL, Celebrity, and the occasional luxury lines. NCL could do a better job keeping our business if they had an adults-only area in the Haven, or maybe "Quiet Hours" (like from 1-3pm). I realize NCL wants to attract families to the Haven, but they're going to lose their other guests if they don't find a compromise to this situation.

I'd also like to see NCL revamp their beverage packages. Celebrity includes bottled water and coffee drinks. They also offer a non-alcoholic package. Not everyone drinks soda and a package which included juices, virgin drinks, and coffees would be appreciated.

Agree with your suggestions 100%.

Would also like a smoke free casino. NCL has many restaurants. Why not 2 casinos or at least a few "smoke free" days so that everyone can enjoy the casino.

What ? Pretty much anything booked on NCL is "no frills" - that's why you have to pay extra for Haven if you want uncrowded common areas and pay extra for specialty restaurants if you want a chance at decent food and service.

It must be a long time since you cruised with NCL because your comments are not valid. I wonder who pays you to bash NCL every chance you get and yet you state you don't cruise with them anymore? I read that on another post where you were ranting against NCL.

Last November we were on the NCL Spirit for a 28 day cruise and the food and service were great. The friendliest staff we have ever had on over 250 days on many different cruise lines.

Wow... never knew the card thing was an issue.

I saw this two days ago at the buffet, and I was quite surprised by it. There were three tables just casually playing cards... in the center of people looking for a place to eat. I thought it was odd.

The PP has been on an NCL cruise within the past year I believe and their experience left a lot to be desired. I am sure that you had a fantastic time as you say but I am also sure that there were many people on the same cruise that had just the opposite experience. That's one of the reasons that I stated the one thing they need to work on is consistency in the product- customer experiences cannot be that far apart on the type of upscale line Del Rio wants to change NCL into.

I live in the Boston area and I love cruising out of Boston to anywhere. It is so nice to only fly out to the start of the trip or back. Plus going to Bermuda is no flying at all. But I am so tired of the Dawn. I have seen Patty and Jose way too many times. I did enjoy them very much the first few times but I think that I have memorized all their chit chat etc, plus I feel like I could give tours on the ship I know it so well. Time for a new ship for Boston. I wish they would rotate the ships around more so we can experience more of them. I would rather spend money on cruising then airfare.

I think the PP means pricing without the inclusion of the cost of the various promotions. We all know that they aren't really giving those away but if you don't take any of the promotions you are still paying for them. When I looked at MSC they had three prices that you could choose from, starting with the basic fare and then adding different perks for the next two price levels.

I loved the MSC model of pricing. We are looking at booking with them for next summer and found their way of pricing to be very appealing. The "perks" packages are almost useless to us. We do not drink enough to feel the higher price is worth it. We do not book excursions through the cruise line except every once in a while, we do not eat at the specialty restaurants, We do not use WIFI either. So MSC is looking pretty good. (Sorry NCL, we do love you though)

What ship has one pool?

So from what I can tell, Breakaway has one “free” pool area open to both adults and kids. It looks like the other “free” pool is a kiddie pool in the kid’s aqua park area. Vibe is 18 and over and cost extra. Spice H2O is adults only. And Haven is only for Haven cabins.

So that is what I meant by one pool. NCL should really have 2 "free" (non-kiddie) pools to accommodate the amount of people.

Agree. First timer with MSC as well and I am already impressed with its cruise price, nice looking ship and customer friendly approach. All MSC needs now is to add more routes in N America and I will become a repeater for sure.

I would like to see self serve ice & water out by the pool areas. When the bar gets crowded, it can take awhile to get water and I don't want to put a coverup on just to get a glass of water from the buffet.

Also, self-serve soda stations with the cup with a chip (like RCL) would be nice so if you just want a soda, you aren't taking up a bar server's time to get it.
