MrsPawel25 Posted March 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2016 Where do Carnival sponsored excursions meet? On the ship or close to it? I’m wondering because we will be in Nassau from 12 to 8. DH and I have pretty much decided that we want to snorkel while we are there. There are 2 (Carnival sponsored) excursions that we are trying to decide between. One is on the catamaran that leave at 12:30. One is the 2 reef snorkel on a boat that leaves at 2. This is both of our first time in Nassau (and my first cruise) and the one that leaves at 12:30 only gives us a half an hour to find them. I don’t know if this will be a problem or not, as I hear there are long lines to get off the ship once it docks. I’m also wondering if the 2pm one might be better because this will give us 2 hours to look around at the shops prior to leaving for the excursion. But then again if we leave at 12:30 we will have the rest of the afternoon to explore Nassau after our excursion gets back. So, we are torn. StolidCruiser Posted March 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2016 With Carnival-sponsored excursions, you are directed to meet in a common area (usually the theater) to be escorted off the ship based on excursion starting time. Your excursion group will be led to the off-ship departure point. You should have no fears making it to either Carnival-sponsored excursion in a timely fashion. Very often Carnival excursions will meet off the ship but they will give you info on where to meet.
Purvis1231 Posted March 28, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 28, 2016 Actually they sometimes meet on the ship but most of the time they meet somewhere around the port. There are sometimes permanent signs and other times there are guides holding up signs.

SadieN Posted March 28, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 28, 2016 In our experience, usually, excursions meet in a lounge when in tender ports and onshore for docked ports. Meeting information will be on your excursion tickets. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
dacsmom Posted March 28, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 28, 2016 Ship sponsored excursions have different meeting places. Don't worry about making the first one, everyone on the ship who chooses that excursion will be in the same situation. They will not leave without you, they have a list of names and do a head count. Let me rephrase that, they will wait a few minutes. The first excursion will meet at 12:30 so you will have plenty of time to find them. If the excursion meets off the ship, they will be right beside it with signs telling you which excursion they are. There are many Carnival employees walking around helping people find where they need to be. Don't worry, I worried my first time too. The cruise lines really help guide people. If I were choosing, I would pick the first one because you will be more concerned with getting back on time for the second excursion and will not enjoy shopping. Nassau is not my favorite port, but I like shopping anywhere. Relax and have a wonderful first cruise.
