Legend of the Seas Balcony X GTY

Recommended Posts

We have just managed to change our mid ship deck 2 Oceanview cabin for a balcony guarantee cabin at the same price. Do you think we have done the right thing? How bad could it be really?

Thanks for any input / experience

It is likely to be fine - just hope that your booking conditions allow for a cabin change. Once assigned, you could try moving to another exact category cabin in a better location if you don't like your initial assignment.

I suspect you'll end up on in a deck 6 E-category cabin. These are the rooms that were formerly oceanviews and had balconies added on in 2013. You'll have only rooms above you and nothing of significant noise below so I think you'll be fine.

That is not the definition of a guaranteed cabin so you should not count on a cabin change to what you like better (even if it works in the US and Canada only sometimes). The idea is you save money but the cruise line asigns the cabin in a guaranteed category or above.

We did a balcony GTY cabin on Legend earlier this month, and had friends in an oceanview cabin.. You definitely will not regret upgrading. The ability to have fresh air in the cabin is a definite plus, and the balcony is a lovely place to take photos as you cruise into ports/have breakfast/drinks/read. It also gives the illusion of a much bigger space.
