Maid Marion Posted May 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2016 Does anyone know if Cunard have any plans to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the launching of QE2?

Rare 3rdGenCunarder Posted May 16, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 16, 2016 I was surprised qe is in the med for the celebration rather than the Clyde. I know. A sail around Britain would be nice. But I wonder how many people at Cunard HQ would understand why the Clyde matters to this anniversary.
Jim Avery Posted May 18, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 18, 2016 I know. A sail around Britain would be nice. But I wonder how many people at Cunard HQ would understand why the Clyde matters to this anniversary. I agree with you. The hard fact is that QE2 has been out of service 8 years! there are thousands of "new" Cunarders who never give her a thought, never sailed on board, and will never worry about it like us "old timers" who grew up loving QE2. As has been said many times before, The times, they are a changing.:D:D
loubetti Posted May 19, 2016 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2016 You are SO correct, Jim. What a wonderful ship QE2 is. As to the Clyde, why? Yes, I know where she was built, but... You know, "you can't go back, only move forward".
