just an update for canadian fellows.

i just booked a cruise for 2018.

for canadians who are interested to book in CND$ the current exchange rate was 1.266 on base cruise price and 1.333 on everything else (tax, service charge for the free beverage package, insurance & everything else available on my ncl).

I could not resist to the free drink package available for inside room in the new promo (cabin is 849$ base price per person while drink package is 790$ per person for 10 days) almost free cruise fare :D

i will look forward for a last minute upgrade later if the price are dropping.

otherwise it will be my first inside after 2 suite cruises.

have a nice cruise ! :)

The mid-point bank rate I follow has 1 USD = 1.30677 CAD today. My Canadian bank's Buy//Sell rates today are 1.2633//1.3316.

Can you ask for a 'preferred' rate?

When I do, matters magically improve by about 1.5 cents (RBC).

The whole notion of a preferred rate is absurd (and no, I'm not a big customer) and the notion of having-to-ask is absurd, but it can't hurt to try.

I actually buy both CAD and USD here in New Zealand and do not do the cross in my Canadian bank (BMO)

i could not resist to rebook to a balcony when i saw a low price on a canadian TA website. But that was an error and i had the chance to keep that price.

You can read about it there :

Now i just have to cancel my original Inside reservation from NCL.
