RICCruisers Posted May 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2016 We had the pleasure of being entertained on Solstice two nights ago. Broken Strings is a new show to Solstice. We viewed the 9:00 show which was the third time the cast had performed. All I can say is Great Job! The cast was excellent. The music was current and the voices and dancers were top notch. After being disappointed the last few cruises this show was a very welcome addition. It may be because the music was much more familiar to the cast because the song selection was not simply a retread of songs that have been used over and over again in "cruise ship" shows or because the cast along with the director/producer were extremely talented. Probably a combination of both. Thanks to Celebrity for the tremendous upgrade and bring on more of these shows. Headed into Juneau in about an hour and hope the rain holds off. Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted May 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 30, 2016 Broken Strings was on Solstice when we cruised on her around NZ last Christmas. Perhaps your cruise had a new cast onboard
RICCruisers Posted May 30, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted May 30, 2016 That may be right. I know the CD said it was their 3rd performance. Sorry if this was incorrect. Either way we loved the show c
Mr. Click Posted May 30, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 30, 2016 We saw it on our cruise from Sydney to Auckland in early November. I only remember it because it was not something I wanted to sit and listen to that night. The performers were fine but the whole premise just did not make we want to sit there... paradyne64 Posted May 31, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Saw Broken Strings at 9 pm last week, so that must have been their second performance. It was great. Did not really like Amade, too much rap. The acrobatics were great, but when playing for an older 50ish crowd there were lots of comments about the music selection. Gracie115 Posted May 31, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 31, 2016 We enjoyed Broken Strings on the Reflection TA this April.....however the show that followed a few days later "MAXX" was just really poor....hopefully they worked out the kinks but it appeared to be a "high school" caliber production when we saw it.
