PGPrendy Posted July 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2016 Labadee, Falmouth, and Cozumel vs. Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, and Cozumel. Which itinerary would you choose? I am intentionally not mentioning the ships we are choosing from because that may sway folks' decisions, and I'm really interested in hearing feedback from those of you who've done both itineraries or similar ones. I will say that one itinerary is on an Oasis class ship, and the other is a Freedom class ship. Thanks in advance. :)
reallyhooked Posted July 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 4, 2016 I like to cruise,Like both classes of ships. Grand Cayman,
impatientlywaiting Posted July 4, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 4, 2016 I always choose any itinerary that goes to Grand Cayman. They are the only place in the world to get Tortuga Rum - which is very delicious! We're going there for two weeks in January! :D
sweetlove13 Posted July 4, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 4, 2016 Falmouth because then you can go to Doctor's Cave Beach in Mo Bay, which is amazing & was one of the highlights of my cruise when I sailed there last year [emoji2]
VASOXFANN Posted July 4, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 4, 2016 (edited) Probably Labadee, Falmouth and Cozumel Costa Maya is nothing but a big, cruise-line owned strip mall, but I've alwAys wanted to go to GC. Tough choice. Edited July 4, 2016 by VASOXFANN
DonnaK Posted July 4, 2016 #6 Share Posted July 4, 2016 I love Labadee. A perfect beach day. Haven't been to Falmouth, but Jamaica isn't a favorite for us. I assume that this is the Oasis class itinerary I also love Grand Cayman, and I've never been to Costa Maya, so that's a plus. I assume this is the Freedom class itinerary, and it might leave from Galveston which would be a negative for me (difficult to get from the airport to the port). It really is a toss up, and I don't think you can go wrong with either. Maybe pick the less expensive one (after adding in flights, etc)
CCC3 Posted July 5, 2016 #7 Share Posted July 5, 2016 I've been to all the named ports except Labadee. That said...I'd choose Grand Cayman, Costa Maya and Cozumel.

Rare island lady Posted July 5, 2016 #9 Share Posted July 5, 2016 IMHO I would choose Grand Cayman and Costa Maya, only because we have been to touristy port stops Labadee and Falmouth WAY too many times. But that is totally a personal decision. If you do go to Costa Maya, one popular thing is to take a taxi (short 3-5 buck ride) over to Mahahual. It is a little touristy strip along the beach with cute little restaurant/pubs and local shops. $$ goes a long way there. In Grand Cayman, we rent a car and enjoy a tour around the island, with a stop for lunch on the ocean at favorite restaurant Tukka. Just remember to "think left" when driving. ;) We are losing Freedom here in PC, which was able to go to Grand Cayman. Oasis is coming as replacement, and can't go to Grand Cayman, one of our favorite ports. :(
RoeC Posted July 5, 2016 #10 Share Posted July 5, 2016 Not a fan of Jamaica. Definitely enjoyed Grand Cayman and Cozumel is my favorite port. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
39august Posted July 5, 2016 #11 Share Posted July 5, 2016 Falmouth is also a big, RCI owned strip mall. No good beach close to the port. Most other popular destinations are a long bus ride away. So, I'd go anywhere but Falmouth. Love Costa Maya, but the trick is to leave the port and go to Mahajual as mentioned above.
reallyitsmema Posted July 5, 2016 #12 Share Posted July 5, 2016 I would go with the itinerary that included Grand Cayman as long as the ship wasn't sailing from Galveston. If the ship was sailing from Galveston, I would choose the Oasis class ship instead.
