UDcc123 Posted August 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2016 Our family of 4 is splitting up for one night of specialty dining on our upcoming Oasis of the Seas cruise. While the other half is going to Izumi, my youngest isn't a fan of hibachi food (doesn't like rice & doesn't like a lot of seasoning). She does like Italian food though. My only concern with Giovanni's is the whole family style aspect. How does that work for only one adult and one child? More concerned with if she does eat off a potential kids menu, how in the world do I eat a family style meal by myself (I'm not that gluttonous)? Or is it that we'd share the appetizer & pasta, but she'd get a kids entrée?

Not everything is served family style, they will serve individually plated meals too, especially to a party of two.:)
Royal2464 Posted August 12, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2016 No problem. I travel solo most of the time and have enjoyed many meals in Giovanni's.

OCruisers Posted August 12, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 12, 2016 No problem! My husband and I love Giovanni's ... just the two of us. He orders what he wants. I order what I want. :) LuLu
Scootch Posted August 23, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 23, 2016 I'm w/ your daughter....not a fan of hibachi. The service at Giovanni's is so amazing that they will go out of their way to make it a very special evening. My husband don't usually pay extra for restaurants onboard, but did try Giovanni's on Allure and will go again on Oasis. The service amazing and my picky meat and potatoes DH was impressed. jaspercat Posted August 23, 2016 #9 Share Posted August 23, 2016 I too travel solo and have eaten there on both my Oasis cruises and enjoyed both. OP -- enjoy your evening with your daughter. Giovanni's is an excellent choice.
jamesr3939 Posted August 24, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 24, 2016 Probably our favorite place to eat on the ship. We usually ask for a table outside and fear not you can order individually plated food.
hansolosmom Posted August 24, 2016 #11 Share Posted August 24, 2016 Not much to add since you have an answer, but we loved Giovanni's. I hope you have a fun father daughter date
