Tiki_Man Posted January 6, 2017 #727 Share Posted January 6, 2017 Quite a few "Casualties" ?Getting them in the zodiacs and putting "jackets" on them then getting out ! Took forever. A lot of "no shows" for dinner too. But a heck of a lot of fun. At least they felt NO PAIN as they flopped onto the zodiac's. The web cam looked like it was a perfect day in White Bay. We have witnessed a few of those "did not make dinner" scenario's. Makes the next morning breakfast a bit of fun also. Cheers
commander courageous Posted January 6, 2017 #728 Share Posted January 6, 2017 SD has posted their 2018 itineraries on-line. None really "jump out" as new and exciting (have focused on the winter ones) but for us from the North, a couple of departures to and from Barbados on SD II will sure make air arrangements easier. Most departures are from either San Juan or St. Thomas, probably good for the Yanks, but difficult for most everyone else. Anyway, it is what it is! As an aside, just read where Royal Clipper will launch in 2018 their new 300+ passenger sailing ship, Muse. We did the Royal a few years back in one of their premier cabins and enjoyed the experience. Food was just so-so and most outdoor space relegated to the sail paraphernalia, but for sailing aficionados, an interesting ride. Less than a month before we embark ... counting the hours! ho-hum Posted January 6, 2017 #729 Share Posted January 6, 2017 Hum loves being on the boat when most of the fellow passengers are off. Time to read. Contemplate. Time with Blondie. Boat to ourselves. Crew pass by for a chat. And also it is time for the boat to be repaired, washed, scrubbed, spruced up. There are also safety training exercises. Of course Hum absents himself as much as possible so that their work is unimpeded. It gives you such a feeling of re-assurance that these guys are looking after us so well. Hum has the greatest respect for them at these times.

Quite so, quite so. A month to go and you're counting the HOURS !! Life in the frozen wasteland sure sounds dull old chum. Make sure the huskies get their exercise and the sleigh is in good order for the long trek to civilisation and a ride to the airport for your journey to SD. What I found out is, that STAR CLIPPERS will have a brandnew 300 passenger sailing ship end of 2017 called FLYING CLIPPER. http://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/14290-star-clippers-new-ship-name-flying-clipper.html Happy sailing! ;)
commander courageous Posted January 11, 2017 #741 Share Posted January 11, 2017 Got the number of passengers right BUT the wrong line! Yes, Muse is apparently a new SilverSeas ship and Flying Clipper, the new Clipper line vessel. Sorry for my mistake.
ho-hum Posted January 11, 2017 #742 Share Posted January 11, 2017 Our (British) news has become hijacked by America ! And it has been that way ever since Mr. Trump decided to run for President. So a long time. All Hum hears about is America ! - American Republican nomination - American Presidential election - American gun crimes - American riots - American police incidents - American weather - American celebrities - American minor celebrities - Ordinary Americans - errr the other type of Americans....either fat, retarded....(covers quite some ground) - American award ceremonies - American fake news - American sports !!! Hum is sick about hearing about America ! Britain is a country too. Our news headlines concentrates on British issues: - cat stuck up tree - a train was late by 10 minutes - elderly gentleman (over 55) tripped on public footpath where stone paving slab lifted - Women's Institute calendar - cake baking competitions - dog competitions - our Queen has a cold - Prince Williams wife and children - weather turning chilly (whether to wrap up) - England cricket team losing to those in the colonies - tea prices under threat of price increase - nasty European Union leaders being horrible (especially Germans. 2-0 !) - man was drunk on a Saturday night in Manchester Yes, Britain has a "life" too you know ! And when Hum went on his winter vacation he met Americans, Americans, Americans. It was ........... wonderful. So chummy, friendly, kind, easy going and smart.........indeed very smart ! Hum loves Yanks (more than Europeans actually!) Of course this is a terrible generalisation. Dress sense let's them down a tad...oh and they do love their burgers, beer and baseball caps but the English can be 10x worse ! We in GREAT BRITAIN are suddenly being force fed all things America so don't get all "sniffy" if Hum comments on "Yankland". Here goes. - Oh Ms.Streep, what a performance ! So nauseating. You did your "viewpoint" no favours. Look Hum doesn't care too much what you Yanks get up too but that monologue was truly terrible. Sadly our British actors were even worse !!!! - Obama has looked more Presidential since Trump won than ever before. Hum hopes he enters the Presidential race again. Of course his last term was a disaster. Maybe Michele should have a try "the real "man" behind the "woman"" !!! - Is Kim "Car-crash-Ian's" booty getting smaller ? Awful, awful family. Hum appreciates your indulgence at Hum's ravings and rants. No offence meant. So pleased to see this forum attracting so much activity in recent weeks. Still we need more of those "sitting on the bench". Jump in chums. If Hum can get away with such bumbling drivel then you will be seen as a "Mastermind" !!! Ragnar Danneskjold Posted January 11, 2017 #745 Share Posted January 11, 2017 Likely the royalty-obsessed Brits sense a dynastical government forming in the U.S., with the election of HRM Trump.
